Was very clean staff were great and very helpful even with the language difference. Right close to shops restaurants and airport. Breakfast was yummy. Location is in a very narrow street and, although parking is possible outside the property, it is a squeeze. The interior of the property was clean and tidy. Although a bottle opener/corkscrew was missing. Value for money on a one night transient stay in the middle of the season.

The bed was very comfortable and the apartment was very well equipped - including a full kitchen, desk, massage table and living room (or spare bed) area. The property was beautiful, inside and out and very secure. Parking onsite was ample and very convenient. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The hotel was clean and well kept, but a bit on the small side. The breakfast was adequate, but the bathroom was really small, if you were overweight you would certainly struggle to get into the seperate toilet!! The towels were very small also, but for the price we were paying it would be churlish to complain.

Historical castle with old town. Quiet provincial French town with an interesting looking medieval heart that is undergoing restoration. We walked around Perpignan, well signposted. The locals are friendly and helpful. We ate at a restaurant close to the train station the food was tasty and reasonably priced. The Pizza place close to town was a bit more expensive but food was tasty and staff helpful. The dinner at The Steakhouse was food but quite expensive again the staff were helpful and friendly.

The rooms are old and dated. The aircon doesn’t work very well and the windows have locks on them. The room was hot and stuffy. The ibis rooms are accessed via the Novotel. Apart from the reception and dining area it all looks a bit shabby.

Like many visitors to the town, we were drawn to the town by the chance to watch the Catalans Dragons rugby league club play at Stade Gilbert Brutus. However, there is so much more that the town has to offer travellers. The town centre is crammed with beautiful architecture, quirky shops, bars and cafes and lots of history. Meanwhile, for just a euro you can catch a forty minute bus down to the coast (we chose Collioure). A brilliant trip whether visiting with family or friends. We will definitely be back soon.

Perpignan is a lively place, cleaner and neater than some...
Perpignan is a lively place, cleaner and neater than some other southern French cities. The historical sites are not particularly thrilling, but it's pleasant to wander around the old town and there is always something going on - the annual festival of photojournalism while we were there. The beach resorts of Canet and Sainte-Marie are within easy reach. Recommended excursions: Céret, Collioure (each a cheap 40-min bus ride away if you can figure out the eccentric timetable) + the Red Train along the Fenouillèdes valley west of Perpignan - with very knowledgeable guides!
