Located in a small town close to Clermont-Ferrand and to the highway on the way towards Bordeaux, the hotel is a great traditional place to stop over and have a chance to enjoy the Auvergne area, including the volcanoes. Charming also because it's and old building and not a new "ibis" style hotel, integrating itself perfectly in Orcival town The staff was really great and always tried to help and accommodate our needs and wishes, also in their restaurant. They were also very attentive to CoVID related measures and cleaning

The setup consists of a separate house, with absolutely all amenities and features required for enjoying a home away from home vacation. The location is also great, within walking distance from the village center, as well as perfectly placed for hiking in the region, or visiting a neighboring farm, for some of the best cheese in France: Cantal, Salers or Blue D'Auvergne. Gorgeous surroundings, right in the middle of nature, with a tiny stream behind the house, added to the overall charm to an experience we will certainly repeat!

Breakfast was OK but could be more protein foods like ham and eggs. Many people come to the Auvergne for hiking, long walks which uses a lot of energy so a strong ‘English’ or ‘Scandinavian’ type breakfast would be great. Everything was very clean, comfortable and quiet..Perfect for a sight-seeing vacation. Having an electric car charging facility in the carpark was also brilliant as the Auvergne is not good for EV owners. This is important as 20% of new car sales in France this year are electric and this is rising fast.

This hotel can only be described in superlatives, from the moment you are arrive the staff are cheerful and welcoming. a family run hotel, this is reflected in staff relationships. The room was spacious and conveniently located on the first floor with great views acrosss the auvergne; The evening meal was of high quality and very generous, questioning the need for a breakfast in the morning. Salers itself is a worthy venue and the hotel is located close to the entrnce to the village with good parking.

My husband and I had 3 nights stay. The breakfast was excellent, many different local cheeses and charcutterie from Auvergne, delicious homemade fruit pies and bread. We were overwhelmed and very satisfied. Furthermore we ordered a 3 course menu every evening, which our hostess, the hotel owner, cooked ecxellent and we looked forward "coming home" for this surprise of the day. Our hostess is an exstremely humorous and a nice person and so is her daily helper/assistance.

We've stayed here before so knew what to expect and it did not disappoint. The apartment is roomy, light and airy. Bed is comfortable. Pictures of the apartment are accurate - what you see is what you get. The town centre is a short walk away for bars and restaurants. The provision of a washing machine is a real bonus. Parking is easy, free and a few short steps away. We only stayed one night but this would be perfect as a base to explore the Auvergne.

Everything was perfect, from the moment we entered the hotel, the smiling and nice receptionnist Majda and then Eric, the chef. It was our first time in Auvergne and it made us want to come back. Everyone was very helpful and always smiling. I will definitely recommend this charming hotel. Breakfast was super, had it on the terrace with the beautiful mountains view, Eric is making you pancakes and eggs with Love.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful location in the Auvergne. We were welcomed by the host who was very friendly and helpful. The room was large and the facilities were clean and comfortable. The room had a balcony with fantastic views to the countryside and mountains. The room was also very quiet. There was also plenty of outside parking available.

This was our second stay at the Midland. We stopped on the way going and back from the Auvergne, taking the train from Paris and renting a car at Vichy. We were very pleas;ed with the hotel on the way there, and were happy to be able to book a room on the way back.

Comfortable apartment within few minutes walking distance of Brioude centenaries, charming Auvergne small town with a fine basilica. Public parking nearby. Good wifi. Comfortable bed. Good comms from host. Will stay there again - recommended.

The hotel is located in the Auvergne area. If you want to experience the charm of historic french hotel of former times, stay here. The hotel has an unique historic touch reminding you of the time before mass tourism... very friendly staff

All we needed for 1 night. Clean room / bathroom OK / early breakfast possible - simple but good breakfast.

my second visit. the spa is one of the best in the world. the bed is very comfortable. I was lucky to stay on the 3rd floor with est access to the spa. the bar, restaurant and service is great. there was a lovely musician in the bar on Saturday night

nice and close to the lake and a couple of restaurants. staff was very friendly. who knew France had a volcanic district

great location from motorway with restaurants and supermarkets very close.able to reverse car right up to door which makes unloading and loading easier.big bedroom and large wet room.small table and 2 chairs makes dining in easy.

Wonderful stay at extraordinary lodges. High quality lodges run by very nice staff. Also worth mentioning the extraordinary entrepreneurial spirit and skill of getting the lodges and infrastructure to where they are now. I can only imagine what they may now be able to do while developing the grand house further. This is the kind of family we may be seeing at Netflix any time soon to follow their endeavours!

Swimming pool, location, rooms. Hotel is clean and convenientely located. The view is stunning. I don't know what to add, just filling up the form to be ok with the number of words. That's a bit stupid I think.
