The nicest thing about this property is the hotel restaurant, which is open air with a lovely view of the ocean. Also enjoyed the great food there.
We also appreciated that there was a staff member present at 5.30am (despite reception not opening until 6.30am) to make sure we caught our taxi to the airport.
Situated in Papeete, 500 metres from Plage Hokule'a and 500 metres from Paofai Gardens, "Hanikea" Quiet & Pool Home offers an open-air bath and air conditioning.

It was a fabulously central location but nice and quiet situation. Lovely amenities in the house and the hosts couldn’t do enough for you
Offering a sun terrace and views of the garden, Fare D'hôtes Tutehau is situated in the Farii piti neighborhood. It is 15 minutes' walk from the heart of Papeete.

Martine is an amazing host making us extremely welcome and comfortable. The facilities exceeded expectations. Superbly clean, with anything you could want. Food was fabulous, especially the tuna tartar

Convenient location. Clean and tidy apartment. Well equipped
This is a functioning port city. There are a few places where you can sit by the sea and watch the ships and boats but mainly facilities are across the very busy road.
People enjoy the large market but the town itself is hot, busy and dirty. At night there are many rough sleepers.
This is not a pretty colonial style town. The best bet is to take a ferry to the islands asap.

The town of Papeete is very nice and the people are very friendly and welcoming. Had it not been for our unacceptable accommodations, we would have loved our stay in Papeete. If you go, be sure to stay at a reputable hotel and avoid private Air B&B places. We ended up staying at a dump and no hotel rooms were available because of a cruise that was leaving the next day.

Papeete at first glance could be a nice place to stay. Warm weather, good food and drinks. Seafront promenade is just gorgeous. But a lot of homeless people and dogs are as decay for the city. Well, some of the US cities like Phili are the same...

The French influence in Tahiti is everywhere and I loved it.
The French influence in Tahiti is everywhere and I loved it. Food is amazing, I had great meals out and the Carrefour supermarkets are better stocked than my local supermarkets here in the UK. I just liked the vibe. There are lots of places to eat and drink, decent shopping to be had and I liked the people. The port where you can catch boats to other islands is in town too!

I enjoyed the Markets the most and the street stalls.
I enjoyed the Markets the most and the street stalls.
I loved the fresh pastries - especially the bread sticks
I found finding a place in town was better for us, as the cost for taxi's was very pricey.
I would avoid staying out in the suburbs and ensure to have an offline currency converter handy as there were times i got caught off guard and ended paying double the amount I intended.

Little to do in the city aside from shopping.
Little to do in the city aside from shopping. That all stops on Sundays entirely, and largely disappears on Saturday afternoons too. Public transport is almost impossible, not helped by the website or the tourism office. There are no beaches walkable from the city centre, so you're left needing to find a tour, a public bus (not on sundays though), or renting a car/scooter.
Ideal one night stop between arriving from Rangiroa and leaving for LA. Free shuttle from and to the airport was a boon. Really appreciated being able to leave our luggage in the locked storage room between checkout at 10 AM and our late evening flight and being able to shower before we left. Very good breakfast. Staff were a little distant at first but got friendlier as time went on. 15-20 minute walk from the Papeete market and several good restaurants. Highly recommend l'O à la Bouche.
Leili Home is a very comfortable and well located apartment perfect for a short or long stay in Papeete. It had everything we needed, was tastefully furnished, well appointed and so close to restaurants, the supermarket and an easy walk into the main part of town. The host was incredibly friendly, helpful and responsive and for a small fee even drove us to the airport for our late night flight. Best of all the apartment was exceptional value for money. Would definitely stay here again.
The staff were very nice and very helpful. Seemed like a tremendous set of workers who were interested in my welfare. I don't recall the Tahitian words being used here when I stayed at this hotel in 2014, so I asked the front desk to teach me how to pronounce the words that I needed. The hotel was relatively quiet and the beds were comfortable. They now have internet in the rooms. That is a big plus. I liked the place in 2014, but having internet in the room is a great improvement.
The hotel is conveniently located within a short drive to the PPT airport. Complimentary shuttle service is provided by the hotel to/from the airport, which is a great aspect of staying here. The air conditioning in the room worked well. There are several restaurants within 10-15 minute walk, though the hotel is located on the side of the hill, so you may need to take a taxi if you are physically limited. The room was spacious and the bed/pillows were very comfortable.
It was our first time visiting Tahiti and Papeete and we decided to stay in the capital and explore on foot. The location of the apartment was perfect for us and everything we needed was in walking distance. The apartment was very quiet and the bed very comfortable (hard mattress). The quiet pool was perfect for cooling off after a day of exploring the city. Thank you so much again for everything.
I’ve stayed here now on several occasions, it’s the best value place in town & better than some of the cheaper hotels.
It’s everything you’d expect from a backpackers hostel.
It’s in the best location in town opposite side of the road from the food trucks & close to the Moorea ferry terminal, bars and restaurants.
The owner was really nice! She kindly booked a taxi to the airport for me and prepared breakfast in early morning. The bed room and common area looked lovely. Even though the property is not close to water, just staying in this Tahitian room would be valuable. You need to pay on site but you can use credit cards.
Like a capsule pod room but better! Shared facilities & common area were immaculate. Central location, directly across from ferry port, 5 min walk to Papeete Market. Has a rooftop bar & restaurant. 24 hour check in, luggage storage available on check out. Can’t fault this place!
location is good for pier to Morea and short walking to the shopping center , unfortunately new year almost shops are closed, we cannot buy any pearl which someone said it’s cheaper in Tahiti compare to Bora Bora , Morea and Raiatea
Central Papeete was 15 walking from Fare Rearea. Room spacious and clean and had a private garden to eat in. Breakfast was provided with variety. Perhaps closer to normal Papeete living than more expensive downtown hotels.
Carlos was great, very helpful with pickup from the airport and with local recommendations. The apartment was generally very clean. The location was walkable to downtown shopping areas of Papeete and the ferries.
our room was spacious and view gorgeous. Atmosphere in the hotel was amazing I enjoyed the activities and our walk along the superb beach Breakfast watching the chickens was special and food the best ever
close to the airport, close to the small shopping centre. All you need for a short stop over. Relax
and recover before your next trip. Plunge into infinity pool if you fancy a swim on a hot day.
We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was excellent. We then enjoyed a Tahitian band and watched many local couples doing a type of Tahitien dancing. Fun evening.
The location is close to the ferry, nightly food trucks, market, ATMs, and the tourist sights of Papeete. It's a cheap place to stay in an otherwise expensive location.
The hotel is really great if you need somewhere to stay that is close to the airport. Lovely swimming pool, friendly staff, and amazing views out across towards Moorea.
Good location very close to Papeete shopping centre and the ferry to Moorea. A/c in the bedroom and the living room.
Balcony with a view over the city rooftops.
