Our recent stay at Fairmont Hotels Monaco was a mix of highs and lows. Unfortunately, our experience was significantly marred by the behaviour of our neighbour’s during the first two nights. Despite being in Monaco, where marijuana use is illegal, our neighbour’s smoked marijuana on their deck for hours. The smell was so overpowering that we had to keep our hotel door shut. We called room service security twice, but little was done to resolve the issue, which was quite surprising and disappointing.
The noisy neighbour’s also stayed up until 1 AM, arguing, laughing loudly, and constantly slamming doors, disrupting our sleep. Although the hotel offered to move us to a lower floor, it was inconvenient given we had five suitcases and had unpacked everything after our 25+ hour journey from New Zealand. Eventually, we couldn't tolerate the situation any longer and accepted the move to a better room. While the new room was an improvement, we could still hear our next-door neighbour’s talking and their baby crying. Thankfully, they were quiet at night.
One major concern is that the rooms are not noise-proof, which is surprising for a hotel of this caliber. If you have noisy neighbour’s, it could lead to a sleepless night. Another downside is the exorbitant cost of food. We found the prices here extremely high, which diminished the enjoyment of our stay in Monaco. Expect to pay around €100 for a regular dinner and €200+ for something semi-fancy. While the room service was excellent, it was also very expensive, and being a vegetarian I did struggle to get food options with protein. We ended up walking 20-30 minutes to find more affordable dining options, as there are no Ubers in Monaco, and we preferred not to use taxis or buses.
The buffet breakfast was okay, plenty more better ones out there. A lot of the pastries didn’t taste fresh and there wasn’t any fresh cut fruit.

Location was excellent. Tunnel to the station was 100 metres away and then a 5 minute walk to the station. Waterfront was 5 minutes away and the palace is a short stroll up the hill. Mini bar in room. Beds comfortable, bathroom clean. Daily maid service. Breakfast was lovely.
Ideally located steps from Casino Square, the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo enjoys a fabulous location overlooking the Mediterranean, the Rock, and the Port of Monaco.

Room was spacious and had great views of the port - right on the front. Would certainly stop again. Great value for money considering the location.

It was very close to the main attractions, and quite easy to find. Bed was OK, it had balcony, and it was very clean. Good deal for the daily parking rate. Staff was professionally courteous and helpful, although a bit up-ish.

Monte Carlo has made a world-famous name for itself in the worlds of sport and business, despite its small size. It is the largest district of the Principality of Monaco, covering a narrow strip of land at the foot of the Maritime Alps. For many, Monte Carlo is Monaco, and in reality it’s difficult to tell where one district ends and another begins.
What is clear is the wealth of its residents, which is no surprise given it’s a tax haven. Exclusive yachts line the marinas, and you’re almost as likely to see a Formula One driver leaving their house as you are to see them hurtling past during the F1 Monaco Grand Prix.
However, it’s the Monte Carlo Casino that it is the clear symbol of status. Its landscaped gardens add to a feeling of grandeur worthy of the European Poker Tour Final and the 2 James Bond films set here. Next door is the opulent Salle Garnier Opéra, built for ancestors of the present-day royal family, who reside in the Prince’s Palace by the historic Monaco-Ville district.
Whether you’re staying for the Monte Carlo Rally, an exhibition at Grimaldi Forum or simply to lounge on Larvotto beach, Booking.com has accommodation options ranging from cheap apartments to luxury hotels, some with helicopter transfers from Monaco Heliport.

Interior was great, views were great and it was clean hotel overall. Restaurant is overpriced, Hidden deposit fees which you encounter during check-in and no information about it is present anywhere on the website. Response time from service is terrible, Front-desk are not so friendly people. Garbage collected from rooms after room service were left in corridors for more than 12hrs. Worst Fairmont among all Fairmonts.

Beautiful city - gorgeous architecture and history imbued into the buildings and locations. Buses run throughout the city but the city in general is very walkable (lots of hills and stairs though in some places!). Lots of shopping if high-end and luxury goods are your thing.
The Oceanographic Museum and the car collection were highlights and a great activity to do for all ages. You can get a combined ticket deal for both.

If you are in reasonably good shape I recommend walking around Monte Carlo as it is much easier to stop take in the sights and take pictures. You also get a better feel of the city. The train is also convenient for getting to airport. Or visiting Cannes or Italy. Seems odd to use frugal and Monaco in the same sentence but if on a budget check out the local supermarkets instead of restaurants. They have fresh fruit, salad, bakery items as well as drinks and snacks. Bring it back to your hotel sit in your terrace with a bottle of wine and enjoy the view of the city.

It was very beautiful. I enjoyed the palace and the gardens.
It was very beautiful. I enjoyed the palace and the gardens. The city is very clean and appears to have pride in appearance. I felt very safe and there was a large presence of police everywhere.
I was there during the heatwave so didn’t see as much as I would have liked. Taxis were hard to find and the place has a lot of steps as it is all located on a hill. Some areas had lifts and escalators.
The train station looked like an airport and was very clean but there was no one to offer help with directions.

Monte Carlo is the playground for the rich.
Monte Carlo is the playground for the rich. It is a lovely vibrant city with lots to offer. Good local food in good quality restaurants with friendly staff. The casino and the square is something else to see and witness the comings and goings of the patrons. The walking tour of the Grand Prix circuit was excellent and a knowledgeable guide. Would recommend this and of course for the shopping experiences.

This is a typical 2* hotel with 2 squidgy bottles of shampoo/body wash (all-in-one) and a body lotion screwed to the wall. A little bit of mold in the corners of the shower, the soap, make up pads kit are not replaced - you get them upon arrival and that's it. Breakfast is not particularly great, hot food is not laid out, the choice of cold food is very limited. I had to order eggs - they do only scrambled for breakfast - and received cold mush with some water at the bottom. I suppose they scramble eggs with water and do it the day before to anticipate the demand.
It is a good, no frills hotel located near the Monte Carlo casino…maybe a 20 minute walk. Good bus connection location. Restaurant was just ok. Few other nearby restaurants. Most closed Sunday! Good value for the money considering it is Monte Carlo! Good hotel, for the ordinary man in the land of the rich and famous. Bus #2 takes you directly to the impressive oceanographic museum, probably the best thing to do if you don’t want to buy another Porsche or Bentley…or a Gucci suit!
We visited Monaco to celebrate my partner’s birthday; It was evident from check-in that the hotel couldn’t do enough for us. We stayed in the ocean view room and, aside from the incredible view, the room was luxurious with its space. Everything about our experience was perfect.
This is one of the more expensive hotels in the area but still maintains superior value for money with it’s proximity to the Casino, the major shopping outlets and its own in-house rooftop bar
Great location, only a few minutes walk away from the main attractions in Monaco. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I especially liked the restaurant on the roof La Mome which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Great views of the harbor and yachts. The room was spacious and comfortable. For Monaco this hotel is reasonably priced.
A very good location near the food and transport hub of the Place d'Armes. The hotel is clean and without frills, good for a short stay. There is no lift and if other guest are in the slightest noisy in the corridors or their rooms your rest will be interrupted. Our bathroom was small but adequate. One of the few affordable hotels in Monaco.
Location is great, but property is extremely small, no window, no air conditioning, probably its normal in Monaco, but in other countries should be not possible to rent, its not studio, just small dark room. Coming from switzerland, its a total disaster, could not sleep there, prefer to sleep on the beach.just different expectations.
This is my second time hiring the San Miguel and both times I have loved the experience. A stay anywhere on a boat is unique, but the fact that this one is in Monaco harbour makes it even more so. It is cozy, as comfortable as one would expect and a location that very few hotels could beat!
Location was perfect , management of facility was truly amazing went beyond with assisting with organizing transfer and communicating . Place it’s clean and 5min waking down to Casino Monte Carlo . Place was spacious , very clean and had fans which was super helpful during hot weather .
Our room had a a wonderful view of the sea and Port Hercule. The hotel is central to everything we wanted to see and do in Monaco and is just a few minutes walk to the train station. Breakfast was fantastic, a wide selection of hot and cold foods and drinks.
Location is perfect. The private beach is certainly a plus considering that other five stars hotels in monaco do not offer that. Concierge staff was always very helpful, the same can be said concerning the valets.
Excellent hotel, excellent staff that made us feel more than welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. Central location, within walking distance to most of Monaco's sights.
this was a very comfortable stay as was close to most of my meetings and some very nice restaurants/cafe's VERY close by and Monaco center easy to access
The absolute best location in Monte Carlo. View directly on main Harbour and at the swimming pool chicane at the end of the tunnel of the F1 racetrack.
