It is an interesting Breton city with an old centre in which many buildings are preserved. There are plenty of restaurants, a multitude of crêperies and cafés as well as shops supplying various produce in a wide range of consumer needs and wants.
The Saint Corentin Cathedral, Musée des Beaux Arts, Breton Museum and various gardens all provide the opportunity for the visitor to appreciate the culture and history of Quimper.
If staying in the centre everywhere is within a walkable distance.

Helpful staff at the Tourist Office; several museums (Musee des Beaux-Arts), some town walks with information boards on the way. Much of the centre is pedestrianised. Plenty of good food (not only crepes, but a large variety of those.) Worth going beyond just the tourist areas (the Cathedral & the Market) for better value & variety. (We liked the Messidor Boulangerie for coffee & croissants.)

Attractive historic town with great museums and galleries, cathedral, river walks and gardens but not too touristy (in June 2022). Close to other lovely towns eg Concarneau and Pont Aven plus routes to coastal scenery.

I did not want to visit big cities in France during the pandemic.
The city is small but has enough attractions.
Since the transportation is well connected, I used the city as a base to explore several places in Finistère.
This was by far the best accommodation, I have ever booked and I can give only top ratings. The appartment was very spacious, stylishly furnished, had extremely comfortable beds and was very very clean.
The center of Quimper was just a few minutes walk away.
Excellent apartment for a stay in Quimper- very well equipped and comfortable, we felt welcome and at home. Easy short walk to the market and attractions. Hélène was extremely helpful and flexible, outstanding communication. Highly recommended.
The apartment is lovely, nicely decorated and very comfortable. It is a cocoon indeed! As far as location is concerned it is just so easy to walk around in Quimper’s old cobbled streets and to nearby restaurants and places of cultural interest.
Beautiful, spacious and comfortable apartment with the most extraordinary view of the cathedral so close outside the window. Plus, Quimper was charming and exceeded our expectations. Would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful modern boutique hotel filled with original art and in a super location for Quimper. Breakfast was good. Parking on site. Easy to walk to downtown museums. Great city to visit.

Staff excellent and most helpful.
Shame that Air France lost our luggage and that it rained during our stay. However, would thoroughly recommend this hotel !!
Very enjoyable stay in this very comfortable and nicely decorated flat right at the heart of Quimper’s pedestrian area. Very nice and responsive owner. I thoroughly recommend!
