La marsa beach was right outside our guest house.
La marsa beach was right outside our guest house. We could walk to the main part of the beach and the shops and restaurants. We were out of season, visiting during Ramadan so it was relatively quiet. Some restaurants were not open at all, some only during the day, others only at night. We managed to find somewhere to eat every day. I can recommend the Cliff restaurant, Pasta mi Basta (very accommodating with our friend who had various intolerances), Kenko food bar and Blu Blu (Sidi Bou). There was a supermarket which catered for our needs. We also visited the capital Tunis and Sidi Bou Said which had lovely shops and stunning views.TraceyUnited Kingdom - 8.0Scored 8.0

Very clean and beautiful house. Esma and son were accommodating hosts. We were expecting a hotel rather than a B&B. Bed had partial walls on both sides with shelves so easy to bump head or body. Breakfast was the same both days—Tasty and fresh but nothing memorable. Several restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Bakery as well. Value for money seems a little expensive.

But what really sets it apart are the staff, who were welcoming, helpful and attentive without being overbearing or intrusive- not always an easy balance to strike. The breakfast on the terrace next to the pool was memorable, and the cherry on the cake was the private access to the beach where we were able to take a refreshing dip each morning. Treated us like friends, including us in a colleagues birthday party, arranged a contact for us to visit the grande synagogue of Tunis, called restaurants for us to change our reservation time, endless tips, we’re always just a whattaapp message away and much much more! Garden pool - perfect for a swim in 40 degrees heat. Our bed on top 3rd floor was comfy and we had great views. Reception staff speaks excellent english (Farah was lovely) and you can pay by card in eur/gbp/usd (rare in Tunis). Hotel is a home to a doggy and 2 kittens, it felt very safe. I would recommend it to solo female travellers.
