Very nice place to stay in Luang Prabang! Walking distance to main attractions, no need for tuk tuk. National museum, Wat Phousi hill is just around the corner, I also walked to Wat Xiengthong temple. Many nice cafes around, and I just enjoyed walking around at night when all restaurants and night market are opening up. I like how close everything is. The guy at reception is very sweet. He booked for me Kuang Si waterfalls tour and airport transfer as well. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to all travelers visiting Luang Prabang.

We loved this place! It was the perfect oasis in Luang Prabang. But the Garden House is not only a place to stay to explore the city & its surroundings, it’s a destination in itself. It’s a wonderful experience to take part of this inspired project. The breakfast room windows capture the misty morning mountains like a painting. The generous outdoor kitchen allowed us to experiment with Lao cooking. Incredibly, we could add the organic produce from the garden to our plates. The lovely host even offered a papaya directly from the tree to my mother - this is the kind of moments you cherish forever… The list of things to adore here is endless - thank you so much for creating this place & giving us such a warm welcome! Extra thanks for helping us (super efficiently on WhatsApp) with everything from charcoal to the barbecue to sticky rice steamer to transport.

The staff made our stay out of this world especially Oscar and Pansa. From the moment we made our booking they bent over backwards to ensure our every need was met. As they all waved us off when we left we had tears in our eyes. The location was great. Although 7 minutes out of town the hotel provides free shuttle runs 3 times a day. It is on the way to the Si Kuang falls and other tourist spots so very convenient for sightseeing. And of course being out of town it is oh so tranquil. The pool is large if a little cool so a great place to relax. Although it does not have the facilities of other 5 star hotels the price is considerably lower so it is great value for money.

The hotel is located on top of a hill overlooking Luang Prabang and used to be owned by the Lao Royal Family. It is beautifully laid out and furnished. The infinity pool in the centre overlooking the hills and then the large dining room, bar and reception area is amazing. Our room was very spacious with a large outdoor space for reading and enjoying the beautiful view. The bed was incredibly comfortable and d the lounge and bathroom area very large and comfortable. However incredible the property itself is , and it really is, it is over-shadowed by the team that run the hotel and work there. Everyone we met was warm, kind and genuinely thoughtful. This was a big expense for us for our 20th wedding anniversary so all of the optional tours and experiences were tricky for us to afford but we never felt at all pressured to spend money. Only given great advice and really taken care of. The team were very open and all talked to us about their lives in Laos so gave us a broader understanding of the country we were visiting. Finally - I need to mention the food. We love good food and are lucky to live in Japan so eat a lot of very good food. The restaurant at Residence Phou Vau is exceptional. Everything we eat was made with the highest quality fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. I tried to exercise every day so that I could eat more ;-)

Great hotel with friendly staff. Rooms are big & comfortable with good air con, high ceilings with a fan. Big bathroom with bath & shower with hot water. Breakfast served everyday on the balcony with a good choice, would have been nice if there was more vegetarian/vegan options. But it was tasty & for the price of the hotel you really can't go wrong. Good location on the river within walking distance of lots of restaurants, markets & bars. Would stay again happily
