Set in Matsukawa, 24 km from The Japan Ukiyo-e Museum, ワールドカリーの館 すぱいすろーど offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Super friendly host and great food for dinner and breakfast. If we will have a possibility, we will come back once more on our trip back to Tokyo.

Nagiso
Takimi Onsen Inn that only accepts one group per day features a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 9.1 km of Otsumago and 9.3 km of Kotoku-ji Temple. Truly one of the highlights of our time in Japan. The building, rooms, and onsen are incredible and the hospitality can't be beat. We were caught in a rainstorm before our scheduled pickup and the owners so kindly dried our sopping wet clothes and shoes. After that, we warmed up in the onsen which left our skin feeling so smooth and headed to a delicious and expansive dinner. We finished the night falling asleep to the roaring sound of the waterfall due to the heavy rains. We'll definitely be back.
Kiso
Tsutaya Tokinoyado Kazari features an open-air bath, free bikes, a garden and bar in Kiso. This 4-star ryokan provides a spa experience, with its hot spring bath and hot tub. Beautiful location with very attentive staff. Comfortable lounge area and the food was exceptional. The outdoor bath was constantly full of lovely hot water so we could enjoy at any time.
Hakuba
Centrally located in the Echo Land district, Hakuba Echo Hotel and Apartments offers comfortable rooms with mountain views. Location, actual hotel, the staff were good, breakfast perfect.
Karuizawa
Opened in August 2012, B&B Hotel Hyochoan offers simple Western-style accommodations. Free in-room WiFi is available and guests can enjoy bird watching from the property’s terrace. We had our wedding at Stone Church, and since all the hotels near the church were fully booked, we chose to stay at the nearby B&B Hyochoan. Our entire stay was filled with warmth and love. We arrived late at around 9 p.m. because we took the wrong Shinkansen, but the hosts were waiting for us and even came out to greet us and help with our luggage from the taxi. Inside, hot tea was waiting for us, and they kindly explained the room’s features. In the morning, we were treated to a delicious and thoughtfully prepared Japanese breakfast. When we were about to leave, we mentioned we were there for our wedding, and the elderly hosts surprised us with a gift of a bottle of wine! Their invoice was also thoughtfully printed, including a photo of us taken during our stay and some local sightseeing recommendations. The house was very clean, with a spacious backyard full of greenery, which was an unexpected delight! For the area, the price was the most reasonable and fair. Highly recommended!
Asama Onsen, Matsumoto
Located within 6.1 km of Matsumoto Station and 8.5 km of The Japan Ukiyo-e Museum, Matsumoto Jujo provides rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Matsumoto. Probably our best ever hotel experience, right from check in where you’re greeted with coffee and sweet treats, all the way to the dinner which was exceptional! The private onsen in the balcony with views of the mountains was a highlight.
Hakuba
Hakuba Tokyu Hotel is an 8-minute drive from JR Hakuba Station and a 3-minute drive from Happo-One Bus Terminal. A free 2-way shuttle to both destinations is provided upon prior reservation. The property is well located, clean, equipped with a beautiful onsen, interesting restaurant with traditional Japanese style cuisine and wonderful views of the mountains. However, above all else, the Tokyo has an amazing staff. All we’re kind, welcoming and helpful. In particular, the younger gentleman working the ski rental facility was able to answer all of our questions and ensured we had what we needed for a great day on the slopes at Happo One. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Shibu Onsen, Yamanouchi
Located in the centre of Shibu hot-spring area and a 5-minute drive from Yudanaka Train Station, Sakaeya offers Japanese-style accommodations. A truly wonderful experience start to finish. We booked the twin room with private external bathroom (i.e an outdoor relaxation area with a hot tub fed from the hot spring water). When you walk into the room you feel instantly relaxed. Supreme luxury and comfort. Our breakfast and dinner were included, and it was absolute fine dining, some of the best food we have ever eaten (served up in our own private dining room!) The service was second to none, we felt absolutely spoiled every minute of our stay. An unforgettable experience.
Yudanaka Onsen, Yamanouchi
A 3-minute walk from Yudanaka Station, Hotel Tsubakino features indoor and outdoor hot spring baths with a vista of snowy mountain peaks. The hotel offers Japanese-style rooms with free Wi-Fi. The private spa in our suite, offering a relaxing and luxurious experience. The staff provided warm and attentive service from check-in to check-out, and the location near Yudanaka Station was very convenient for exploring nearby attractions. Walking distance to historic towns of Yudanaka and Shibu Onsen.
