It’s a nice new hotel, well decorated, with tatami mats around the property. So you can just wear socks (even provided). The onsen facilities are very nice. Which for us the main reason to visit the hotel. It’s nice that at certain time of day they provide free snacks or even ramen in the evening.

It was a lovely stay, place is well maintained although built in the 80s or 90s so furnishing represents that era. Onsen was lovely with different options and the water temperature was quite hot. Its an elaborate traditional japanese breakfast spread with lots of tasty dishes. I would recommend the place and you feel very relaxed after the onsen and they provide lots of little snacks and ice-cream which was a bonus with the kids. It is quite off the main road and the onsen itself is the destination.

The place was exceptional with friendly staff and services. The room and onsen were both well facilitated and clean. We were staying here for six nights and they prepared us different Japanese style dinners on every night, which were all amazingly good. The buffet breakfast was nice with good variety as well. We have had a great time here and skiing in Myoko.

APA Hotel Joetsu Myoko-Ekimae biedt 3-sterrenaccommodatie ligt in Joetsu, op 47 km van skigebied Ryuoo Ski Park en 31 km van Nojiri-meer. I loved everything about this hotel for the area! Joetsumyoko is an incredibly convenient station to use as a jumping off point for the rest of Joetsu, for Iiyama and we even popped down to Nagano for a day no problem! It’s a completely covered walk of like 90 seconds from the foot of the station stairs to the hotel entrance, so when I say it’s “close to the station” I mean it! Also for convenience there’s a Lawson (コンビニ) suuuper close for any snacking or utility needs, and there’s a few good restaurants for dinner right by the station as well (and a Komeda for breakfast if you’re not eating at the hotel restaurant). The hot spring was a really nice benefit, and it opens really early which was great for me! The staff were really friendly, and the room was honestly way more spacious than we expected. All in all, this was about as perfect as you can get for a non-ryokan hotel in Joetsu!
