Surprisingly large and comfortable apartment. It was very quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the A/C worked really well. The bathroom was a nice surprise, it was fully tiled and felt old school in a good way; and the tub was really deep which felt luxurious.

Bit outdated but that’s exactly what you’ll get in the middle of nowhere. However, staff, food and hot spring is nice and nearby river is a good place to go for BBQ in summer. If you are looking for place where the time stops, this is where you want to go.

27 km from Tairyu-ji Temple in Naka, momijigawa onsen offers accommodation with access to a sauna, hot spring bath and public bath. "Wonderful stay! The traditional Japanese breakfast was absolutely delicious. The onsen is located in a beautiful natural setting, very relaxing and authentic. The staff, although not very fluent in English, were incredibly kind, communicative, and efficient. Everything was perfect – highly recommended!
