Hotel Kirinosato Takahara features outdoor and indoor hot spring baths, only a 2-minute walk from the World Heritage Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes. Very attentive and friendly staff who make an effort with their guests. Onsen and bedrooms were very clean and comfortable. The dinner and the breakfast were absolutely delicious. Incredible view for sunset.

Located in the sacred Mount Koya area, 高野山 宿坊 桜池院 -Koyasan Shukubo Yochiin- is a historic temple and an accommodation for visitors. The temple stay was wonderful. Our room was gorgeous, looking into an inner garden, with a lovely bathroom and a huge wardrobe. It was spotlessly clean and extremely spacious. We were offered hakatas, and took the delicious veggie dinner and breakfast in a side room of the temple. The staff were so polite and helpful and one monk took us on a very informative tour of the graveyard after dark on Halloween - perfect. We were lucky enough to attend the morning prayer ceremony with only one other guest which made it very intimate, in the stunning inner sanctum. The whole building and its gardens are really fabulous. I wasn’t sure what to expect and if we would feel like intruders, but the stay was way beyond our expectations

It smells great inside, of wood. The interior design is lovely. You feel at home as you step inside. The bathroom and shower were full of pleasant scents and surprises. The pajamas and the bed were so comfy I slept like a baby. The refreshers in the fridge were a lovely welcoming. Lovely, attentive host. Thank you! I highly recommend to stay at least 2 nights. Also 2 minutes walk from the station and 3 minutes from the tuna market and the scenic bay of Kii Katsuura.

Set in Nachikatsuura, 1.4 km from Nachi Beach and 1.1 km from Fudarakusanji Temple, 那智温泉 南の湯 - Nachi Manga Onsen offers air conditioning. A hot spring bath is available for guests. We stayed there after finishing the Kumano Kodo trail and were delighted to have a private onsen! The location is very practical, right next to the bus stop and there are a couple of bikes available to make the short trip into town to have dinner. The place is clean, spacious and the bed comfortable. Most importantly Tetsuji was super nice and helpful! We shipped our luggage ahead of us and when it arrived (several days before us) it was broken. Tetsuji called the delivery service for us to help with trying to get reimbursement and then kindly provided us tape to fix it up until we could get a new one, 10/10 would recommend.

Located in Katsuragi, Sanso Amanosato features 5-star accommodation with private balconies. A hot spring bath is available for guests, along with an open-air bath. The service was incredible from beginning to end. A staff member was already waiting at the local train station to pick us up, and the ride up to the hotel was comfortable and picturesque. The room and on-site amenities were incredibly clean, high quality, and large compared to other hotels that we stayed at. The individual private bath rooms were immaculate, and it was a pleasure experiencing the onsen with the complimentary drinks. Both meals that we experienced were great, the traditional Japanese breakfast was very good, and the multi-course dinner was very high quality and shared the region's specialties. The rice served was the best that I had anywhere in Japan, and a staff member even kindly made our leftovers into a rice ball that could be enjoyed in our room. I would recommend this location to anyone staying near Kyoto or Osaka and looking for a high-quality trip into the mountains.

Situated in Hashimoto, Yadori Onsen Iyashinoyu features free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a shared lounge, a terrace and a restaurant. The Onsen! It had private hours for inn guests. I also appreciated the clean, modern cabin. Yusuke and the whole staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, even offering a shuttle to and from Koyasan twice per day. Beautiful valley. there is a bridge that allows you to get down to the rivers edge to enjoy the water.
