Visited as a surprise gift for my girlfriend. We celebrated her birthday sooner, as she leaves abroad for longer time. It was a perfect stay. Staff was extremely friendly and prepared a celebration gift for us in a form of prosecco. Extremely nice gesture that was nicely appreciated. The hotel itself is cozy, only few floors with a decent amount of rooms. The breakfast is small but it is sufficient and included fresh herbal teas, jams and fresh honeycomb that you could just take and eat (Awesome). Hotel also has a wellness area with steam room, relaxation room, sauna and outdoor natural pool. It was exactly what you expect from the place after a whole day of hiking in the nearby mountains. What we loved the most is the spectacular view from the room, which overlooked the valley. That was something we have never seen before and we already visited a fair amount of 4-5 star hotels around Austria. I would recommend this hotel for everyone who is on a lookout for a cozy small hotel with friendly staff and wants to feel the calmness of the Alps.

The stuff was great, welcoming and helpful. We were surprised how great was the design of the room. Everything is made with the attention to the details and the comfort of the guests (spa as well). There were a lot of animals near the hotel, like a small zoo with rabbits, guinea pigs, pig, geese, etc. The way to the hotel was also a lot of fun cause you need to drive on a serpentine road. :))

Very friendly and helpful personell. We travelled as a family with our 5 year old son. We went there for hicking and I got from the reception the best recommendation on where to go. The hotel is clean, modern, quiet, with a personal touch in every room. The breakfast had everything we wanted and a cozy atmosphere. Also the restaurant in the evening was a pleasure. It is situatued right in the center of Großarl, which makes it very easy to either go for a hike right there or take the bus. I would come back again, any season.

I have traveled the world, and I can easily say this was one of the nicest stays in my life! I was visiting Grossarl from Vienna for a long weekend to hike the alps and relax at the spa. Not only were the location and facilities absolutely beautiful, clean, and cozy, the staff was so attentive and professional. Everything felt like a dream- from being greeted with a welcome sekt to a lovely note with my name on it and complimentary chocolates in the room, to allowing a late check out and sending me off with a small gift of their own homemade smoked salt, everything was just perfect. I was treated so well by such friendly people. The dinners were an absolute highlight- each dish was brilliantly crafted and presented, and the taste almost made me cry. I have been telling my family and friends about Grossarlhof, and will continue to spread the word- my favorite hotel I've ever stayed in!
