Staying at Wildlife Lodge was an amazing experience. You are right in the middle of a beautiful garden with diverse trees, fruits, and medicinal plants. We had the opportunity to taste home-grown pineapples, bananas, and other delicious fruits. The garden is not only lush and beautiful but also full of life. Fernando has a frog garden that you can explore in search of many species of animals, including red-eyed tree frogs, smoky jungle frogs (one of Costa Rica's largest amphibians – so beautiful!), and eyelash vipers (some rescued by Fernando and released back to the area around the lodge). The bungalows are really nice, in a typical style, comfortable, with a hot shower and offering privacy and seclusion. Beds have mosquito nets, and you can also use the natural insect repellant (works perfectly!) that Fernando provides. You fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the forest and howler monkeys. Fernando is an amazing person, friendly, with a great sense of humour, and very knowledgeable about animals, plants, and different ways of living. His compassion and empathy for nature are contagious. We loved our chats, learning so much from him about Costa Rica and eating homemade chocolate! The lodge is within walking distance of a beautiful beach where you can swim and be whipped by the waves. If you seek solitude on the one hand and still want to be within short biking or driving distance to Cahuita, Wildlife Lodge is hard to beat. We will be back. Thank you, Fernando, for making our stay so special.

Excellent location in Cahuita - beach right in front, restaurants nearby, cca 15 mins to the main road and centre, so still quiet but in reachable destination to all that you need in such a location. absolutely amazing garden - a national park itself :-) an enthusiastic owner that shows you all the animals and tells everything in a friendly tone. all the service from the owners was excellent, including recommended contacts for guides, rentals and transfer to San Jose - many thanks!

An exceptionally beautiful lodge. The two hosts, Delphine and Bert, have created a little paradise. Everything is absolutely beautiful - the garden, the pool in the middle of the jungle, the houses.... The hosts are very nice, helpful and funny. It is close to the very pleasant village of Cahuita. Everything was wonderful: spotless cleanliness, location close to the park, and extremely welcoming hosts. It is without a doubt the best accommodation option in Cahuita. And the howler monkeys and the sounds of the jungle are spectacular. We traveled with a 4-year-old child and everything was perfect.
