Michael is a Host among hosts. The level of attention, care, and kindness shown by him is exceptional. He went out of his way to always make sure I was as happy and comfortable as possible. Spending so much time and effort just trying to understand me. He even guided us up the mountain. And never asked for extra, this is the thing: he is truly not all about the money. Which is a disappointingly rare trait nowadays.
It is also very tranquil there and highly recommend to anyone considering going through the area to stay here. Food also great!

The area around this place is super beautiful and quiet! We enjoyed our stay in the middle of nature a lot, Michael was very welcoming and friendly, even took us for a nice hike! He is the best cook, food is amazing!

The owner, Michael is an exceptionally fine host. His only motivation is to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
This is our 10th year in SL and we have had few meals as skilfully prepared. Just tell him what you like to eat and he'll oblige.
The countryside here is amazing and quiet although only 2.5km from the town centre.
On top of all this, his prices for food and drink are exceptionally fair. Highly recommend.

Staying was Michael was simply amazing. We did a little jungle tour, went to the market together and he showed us how to cook some delicious Sri Lankan Curries. Everything was super clean and even more importantly there was always a super chilled vibe. ;)

For anyone passing through or looking for a place to stay in Monaragala, I highly recommend this place. Its clean, comfortable, food/coffee available til 10pm and staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

We had a very good stay at Michael’s resort. The yard is really nice and peaceful. You can hear and see all kind of birds, make a nice hike with Michael (the host), and see monkeys jumping from tree to tree. Also, Michael prepares very tasty traditional Sri Lankan meals for fair prices. I would really recommend this place if you like nature, animals, hiking.
Facilities were good in relation to the (low) price.
