This boutique hotel has an amazing history, it used to be a private residence 100 years ago. Most of the flooring tiles are original, the place has been beautifully restored, the rooms are incredible and very cozy, their beds are comfortable. I don't want to give away the story behind the beauty of this building but do stay there and ask them for a little tour around. It's absolutely fantastic.

Well I don’t know where to start. I could write a book about this place. We were in love from the minute we checked in, the family made us feel so welcome. Our room was huge lovely quirky little pond in the room with a few fish. The bathroom was really really stunning made out of all recycled rocks and the room was immaculately clean. Little pool to cool down at the end of the day, amazing breakfast. We had a cooking class which was offered by Gayashan and we also had a barbecue with the family which included music. This family quickly became a part of our family. They couldn’t do enough for us. I miss the children they are so lovely, also not forgetting Bruno, kitty and their cockerel. We booked Gayashan for the rest of our tour of Sri Lanka (15 days) and what an amazing guy he is. He’s friendly, he’s funny, he has an amazing sense of humour, he goes above and beyond to make your stay Just perfect. I cannot wait to come back. This is the first time to Sri Lanka and it will certainly not be the last. ❤️❤️❤️ I waited until I was back in the UK to do my review and let’s just say I miss you so much my brother from another mother. The bond between Gayashan and my husband will last a lifetime.

Rosyth Estate is a wonderful little hotel in the middle of nowhere. The team was extremely welcoming and did go above and beyond, even though we only stayed there for one night. Special kudos to the best chicken curry we had ever!

We stayed at Green Leaves for one night prior to starting a tour around Sri Lanka. Anushka and his family are very welcoming and approachable and we are grateful to have been welcomed to their home. In the afternoon Anushka took us to a nearby monastery to watch the sunset behind the mountains, and to have tea with a local family. The next day we went to visit Ambuluwawa tower before travelling to Negombo. The mud chalet is very clean and tidy, with AC and mosquito nets. Anushka and his family prepared food for us which was very tasty. Overall we had a fantastic time, and staying here was a great start to our trip. Anushka and his family were very helpful when we had some questions, and taught us about the local customs and history

It was one of the best stays in Sri Lanka. In the middle of the jungle. We really loved to stay with family. It was the most authentic staying that we had in Sri Lanka. the kids (2 years and 5 years), are still talking about their home in srilanka in the middle of the jungle, they loved to spend time with grandmom ( she taught them one song, and we must singing every day ) and their tuk tuk driver, which was the best driver at alll srilanka. we recommend to all families to spent time in jungle homestay.

I had a truly wonderful experience, and I’m especially grateful for the amazing service and support from my guide, Andrew. He’s honestly the hero of this place! From the moment I arrived, he made everything smooth and easy — he met me at the railway station, drove me to the hotel, helped with check-in, and explained the program ahead. The next day, he greeted me after breakfast and invited me to watch traditional local wedding dances — such a unique moment! He then took me to the herbal garden, the elephant orphanage, and the zoo, let me try some local street food, and shared so many interesting stories about Sri Lankan culture and traditions. It was my first time visiting Sri Lanka, and I came alone — so having such a kind and knowledgeable guide made all the difference. Thanks to Andrew, my trip was not just safe and easy, but truly bright and joyful. I also really enjoyed my hotel stay — the river view from the room was beautiful, watching elephants from the pool felt surreal, and the whole atmosphere was incredibly relaxing. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Sri Lanka!

This hotel and the views are just wow. We booked the room with the terrace and river view. The sound of the river was so soothing. Wish I could stay there forever. The place is worth more than the price we paid. The room was spacious, with comfortable bed. The pool is open till late at night, and the garden is well taken care of. The staff were helpful when needed. You can swim in the pool while watching the elephants having a bath in the river. The best view ever. The location is very good also with some souvenir shops and restaurants around + a herbal garden where you can have a massage and steam bath at a reasonable price I highly highly recommend it and wish I could come back, as this place is like heaven on earth

The peacock village is set in the jungle in shipping containers, just a short tuk tuk ride to the Pinnawala elephant bathing. Tuk tuk rides are supplied by the accommodation. The staff were exceptional. Andrew was welcoming from when we 1st met. I celebrated my birthday and he arranged a birthday breakfast for me. His other staff were also exceptional. 100% recommend this place to stay you will not be disappointed. Breakfast was buffet style offered different cuisine for cultures. Best breakfast we have had on our stay in Sri Lanka.

From reception to our bedroom was a worm welcome. Shalika and her colleagues were beyond our expectations. She even upgraded our bedroom to a river view bedroom with an open balcony, which was fantastic. Dinner and breakfast were excellent . Delicious food we all enjoyed with happy faces. We also enjoyed looking at elephants and their bath . My son was overwhelmed by seeing elephants in real life. Overall, we highly recommend Pinnalanda Grand Hotel is the best place to stay for a vacation and elephant bath view.

We had an amazing stay in Hotel Pinnalanda. The view is breathtaking! Breakfast was really good and the staff was so lovely and friendly. Especially Andrew (that’s how we called him) from the tour desk was such a lovely helpful guy! Thank you Andrew, you did a great job! But all the staff was amazing and made our holiday!! I can really recommend to also use the pool when the elephants are out, that was amazing!

The accommodation had a beautiful view of elephants, so it's definitely worth going there. However, I think it's not worth staying longer than 1 day. Breakfast was great, and another positive was the fantastic pool with a view of the bathing elephants.

The staff were excellent and couldn’t have been more helpful during our stay. The Accomodation was great, our room had a full kitchenette with a little sitting area and a large bedroom and bathroom. We had a lovely porch overlooking the rice fields. The breakfast was amazing at the main hotel and the view from the pool was truly spectacular.
