This place is amazing! It’s definitely the best stay for our three-week round trip . I can only recommend it. We booked a Standard double room , Which was their basic category. But it was fantastic! The room was super clean , which is not always in Sri Lanka. They had everything more than we expected like air conditioning, hot water , mosquito nets , a fan , tea coffee, and even pool towels were provided in the room. Also best value for the money. Unbeatable! The Wi-Fi was great in the room and restaurant. Pool area also had a another Wi-Fi which was good. The pool was our favorite super Large,clean like the rest of the property surrounded with nature great to relax and in the pool even have kind of jacuzzi that you can get a massage in the water :) We also booked a Half day 7 Hour safari tour through them and it was fantastic . Price was also very good compared to other offers we had . We saw many elephants, birds and many other animals . Had a great time with the breakfast inside the park .The driver explained everything to us and was very experienced. He didn’t bother animals or go with too many jeeps . If you’re going on a safari definitely go with the hotel. The owner was very friendly, professional and had lots of experience in the industry. The rest of the staff also very helpful and available always with a smile . Thanks a lot for the wonderful stay ! We‘ll definitely come back . Highly recommend this place!

My favourite stay in Sri Lanka. Sachi and Hansi were amazing hosts who always went the extra mile. The property is a beautiful, peaceful oasis in Udawalawa and the pool is great. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious!

The hospitality, and privacy are unmatched in this touristy area, two small private bungalows, hidden in the jungle-garden. We had an incredible stay. Leel organised the safari, which was amazing. He knows the park well, doesn't stay in the beginning of the park but drives well in the park to find the best spots! Dinner (curry) was great, Leels wife is an amazing cook! Will definitely recommend and stay there again.

Anju is really nice and very helpful. Dinner and breakfast were really good and made with fresh ingredients from the garden! He even went above and beyond to give us a extensive breakfast at 5am. The room was also very nice. Tours can also be done with him! I really recommend to stay here!

The staff made sure we felt welcome during our stay. From providing earlier breakfast packages to asking personally if we would like dinner everything was great. The location and the design of both hotel and rooms were beautiful. We had a relaxing stay and enjoyed every second of it. The staff and manager were always kind and helpful in any issue that occured.

Everything at Amba Kola was exceptional - especially the people. Louise, Janik, and Janik’s whole family are the loveliest people you will meet. The food is fantastic - everything is locally sourced and prepared with the finest spices and lots of love (Janik’s mom is an award-winning cook by the way). At Amba Kola the hosts will go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. They took us around in their safari jeep to see the elephants and wildlife and we even went swimming in the canal! The room (and the whole property) are lovely with so many personal touches to it. Louise is an artist and her art is present all over the place! Also, the outdoor bathroom is unique. I showered in the dark under the stars - an experience like no other. All I can say is: Come to Amba Kola and see for yourself. These people deeply care for what they do and it shows in every aspect. You won’t be disappointed!

Lovely setting in a beautiful homestay environment. It was very peaceful sitting in their beautiful garden, and the orchestra of frogs in the evening was a delight. The rooms were comfortable and spotless. Dimu and his wife were so genuine and lovely, and the curries were delicious. Dimu organised a safari tour with Sumudu as our guide. Sumudu's knowledge and respect for the animals was very much appreciated. We saw many wild elephants, Sambur deer (very rare), deer, wild boar, golden jackals, Buffalo, crocodiles, peacocks, monitor lizards, mongoose and many beautiful birds. One of the highlights of our trip! Thanks for an amazing stay, Dimu!

We had the best time at Mango Tree House. Sachith is super nice and kind, he contacted us before our stay, helped us to find the best connection to get there and picked us up from the bus stop. The food is delicious, the safari was well organized (we had a lovely driver and saw elephants super close) and the accommodation was clean and comfy. Highly recommended!

The cleanest accommodation I’ve stayed in in Sri Lanka and I’ve been travelling for 4 weeks the family are so kind and helpful the food is amazing definitely highly recommend and we will be back x

Swimming pool was welcome. I booked two tents not realising they had no air con so we were able to get a tent with aircon for the first night and then moved to the non aircon tent for second night. Both were nice accommodations comfortable bed and great value. We booked a morning safari (3.5 hours) with the hotel and it was excellent our guide was brilliant.

We loved the natural grounds, quite wild in a good way. Two lovely pools and it’s so peaceful and quiet. Lots of wildlife to watch. The free fish spa is fun (could benefit from a clean though). We had chosen the most basic tent which was very inexpensive and perfectly adequate. We will definitely be back soon and will stay longer in one of the other accommodation options. The food was wonderful and the staff were fantastic especially Pasindu. It’s amazing value for money and a great place.

Without doubts one of the best accommodations we found in Sri Lanka, offering incredible value for money. the room was spotless, probably one of the cleanest rooms I have ever stayed at. very comfortable bed, big room and big bathroom (we booked the deluxe rooms). great view from the balcony. the owner and his wife are really kind and helpful. the food they prepare is great and they can help with organizing safari too. very strong internet, we were able to work without issues from here. can’t wait to be back!
