Proximity to the terminal and town.
High end accommodation.
Awesome hosts.
The in-house restaurant was a highlight showcasing both the local cuisine and home grown vegetables and fruit. Nothing was to much for our hosts who really made our stay a wonderful experience.

The accommodation was superb. Excellent location. Very tidy and clean. Everything you need to cook or an easy walk to the township for dinner. We only stayed two nights but would have been comfortable for much longer. The owners were really helpful and responsive.

The motel manager, Donna, is so lovely and she definitely made our stay memorable. The facilities are incredible and location is great. Surrounded by birds, bush and a minute walk to Oban centre. I just wish that I could stay there longer. Our whole group including our toddler had one of the best holidays.

From the minute Peter picked us up at the ferry, he and Iris were ultimate hosts. Kowhai Lodge is welcoming, fully stocked (even a bowl of apples for the parrots) and you could not ask for better accommodations. Thank you Iris and Peter!

We loved our stay on Stewart Island, staying at Kowhai Lane with Peter and Iris. The accommodation was fantastic in every way and the Information supplied by our hosts was comprehensive, their knowledge of the island and it's history was shared with great enthusiasm. Our visit to Ulva Island with Peter as our guide was a highlight of our stay. Great friendly hosts!
