Nice and cozy place. The host is absolutely excellent! It is equipped with laundry, which is really convenient. It could arrange a shuttle bus from hotel to Whakapapa ski field. Pretty chill place. Definitely wanna come back next time.

Honestly, the best hostel I've ever stayed at! The owners were the most welcoming, loving and caring people. They made sure to talk to everyone, they even remembered the names of every single person who stayed there at the moment. The whole place was super clean and well kept. Kitchen had everything you need for cooking. The living room is amazing to hang out, watch tv, play games or get to know the other guests (and make some new friends!). Would highly recommend staying there. You would not be disappointed!

This was our second highly enjoyable stay here. It’s a fabulous place to book for families to enjoy an at-home style experience when travelling. The location is very convenient to Ohakune with its great restaurants and supermark and ideal for families going skiiing or visiting Waiouru Army Camp to be with their loved ones. The hosts have always been generous and helpful to ensure everything went smoothly. They are very communicative and available on call.

We stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed the friendly welcome and the big room. The location is countryside as there is no big town about but we knew that, so we stayed in this lovely rural retreat. The location is right next to a lovely stream and the views of the night sky are spectacular. The host was very welcoming and helpful and full of local knowledge. The room was super comfortable, loads of space, very clean and the free Netflix was welcome in the evening.

We have the Studio apartment at the back, with separate entrance and a kitchen. Facing the back with a garden and downslope to a stream. Kitchen very well stocked and we actually cooked several meals (including breakfast) while we stayed for two nights. It is secluded area, and the name "spiral" derived from the railway configuration nearly by, with interesting history (particularly if you are an engineer). The hosts Simon and his wife Mazz are very nice and helpful.

We enjoyed the surrounding and easy access to all the needed amenities. Property is well comfy furnished and with all needed necessities required during your stay. Close to the National Park nice and cruisy about 20 mins drive. Best place to enjoy fire place we had going both evenings with well stocked woods. Well maintained property definitely can visit again.

They have a mini bar that serves meals and drinks. Good for those who forget to pack their food. They also have a fireplace in which you can stay till the bar closes.

Amazing location, river walk, nice easy drive to National Park so made getting to the Mt a breeze. Fireplace does wonders and no shortage on firewood no matter how hard you try to burn though it 😄. David the host is friendly and on call and ready to help. Will 100% be staying again. Cheers !!
