We loved our night at the Lodge, our first in South Africa. Thanks to the warm and welcoming staff, our stay began wonderfully. We were the only guests, which made the experience even more magical and intimate. We had a memorable evening chatting around a campfire with the Lodge's owners, sharing stories and laughter under the starlit sky. The dinner was delicious, we truly enjoyed, and the room was very beautiful, spacious, and impeccably clean. We are especially grateful for the effort made to accommodate our dietary restrictions, ensuring we felt comfortable and cared for throughout our stay. The attention to detail and personal touch made our visit unforgettable.

Everything came with ease. We did a self check-in as we arrived at night, the instructions received were very clear. The cottage was super clean, all the items we needed were provided, from kitchen equipment to utensils, a clear definition of a self catering cottage. The bedrooms and bathrooms are well sized not to mention the bed, it was soooo comfortable I could've spent the whole weekend in bed if I didn't have activities booked. Situated in a peaceful area with ease of access to shopping centers, doctors, etc. Bergdale Cottages deserves more than 10 stars in my opinion, everything was on point.

What a beautiful property. Very large tropical gardens. We did not want to leave. Super spacious two bedroom cottage which was more like a house. So big. Parking at accommodation. Fabulous breakfast at the main house terrace. Super friendly service. They have an adventure centre on the premises. Fun activities.

What an absolutely amazing experience this was. We loved every moment of our stay. The room was gorgeous and the view from the bathtub was to die for. Then you get to reception and it is an absolutely breathtaking sight, could sit there for hours. Our hosts and owners Russell and Janice made us feel so welcome, we actually felt right at home from the get go. The food !!!!!! The best I have had in a very very long time. Can't wait to go back.

Before we reach the hotel, we drive through the avocado and macadamia plantation that belongs to the estate. Upon arrival, Tracey, the owner of Highgrove House, is waiting for us for a warm welcome, refreshing towels and a welcome drink. Tracey passionately talks about the history of the family business and shows us the beautiful gardens and main building. You imagine yourself in a bygone era. We notice that attention to detail will be the guiding principle for our stay here when we receive a tour and are escorted to our suite. Literally everything has been thought of. Over the past few days we have been spoiled culinary and we have really enjoyed the peace and nature. Nothing was too much for the team of Highgrove. We wished we could have stayed longer. We’ll be back!
