Mit einer Terrasse und einer rund um die Uhr besetzten Rezeption ist die Unterkunft Varam Homestay sehr gut gelegen in Madikeri, 800 m von Madikeri Fort und 1,4 km von Raja's Seat entfernt. Unglaublich nette Familie (alle drei Generationen), die weit über das hinausgeht, was üblich ist. Ich wurde persönlich vom Busbahnhof abgeholt, erhielt umfassende Hilfe und Tips bei Ausflügen und Transport und durfte das köstliche hausgemachte Essen genießen. Es finden sich aber auch zahlreiche Restaurants in der Umgebung. Die Lage ist zentral, aber dennoch ruhig mit schönem Ausblick auf den Tempel vom Balkon aus. Ich hatte das komplette Apartment für mich alleine, aber selbst wenn man es zu dritt belegt, hat man viel Platz. Es gibt ein großes Badezimmer, Schlafzimmer, etwas kleineres Wohn-/Aufenthaltszimmer mit Sofa und eine Küche, in der auch ein Einzelbett steht. Hygieneartikel werden gestellt, ein Trinkwasserfilter ist ebenfalls vorhanden. Es war auf jeden Fall eine der besten Unterkünfte, die ich je erlebt habe, nicht nur in Indien, sondern darüber hinaus.

We definitely loved our stay at the Aurika Coorg hotel! Everybody was so friendly and welcoming. All the staff made us feel welcome. The resort is beautifully situated in lush green surroundings with amazing views. It even has its own coffee plantation! Our room was big and tastefully decorated. We went on the morning nature walks with bird expert Ganesh who showed and explained to us many birds and plants. In the evening we listened to nature and culture stories also presented by Ganesh. For the Holi festival a great party was organized by the hotel and we had a lot of fun! Food was very good (one evening there was a buffet and the other night a la carte). Also to be recommended is the spa where Nancy and her colleague offer quality massages. We definitely could have stayed longer and I am sure we will come back to this wonderful place!

Das The Tamara Coorg, eine 5-Sterne-Unterkunft, begrüßt Sie rund 6 km vom Nalkanad Palast und Thadiandamol entfernt. I have had the pleasure to stay in this facility for 3 days. I booked it because it was close to my place of interest, because it had good reviews and because the pictures looked pretty. Little did I know how much I underestimated this resort! The combination of tranquility, breathtaking views from your "room", the omnipresent luxury, selection of superb activities, the cuisine, the actual living forest all around you and overall hospitality and service simply cannot be described by words. One must experience it first-hand to fully appreciate this gem of a property. This property is situated literally inside a functioning coffee plantation, where you can explore the coffee making process from blossom to brewing (and roast / grind coffee beans yourself!). That is only one of the few exceptional activities offered, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The plantation is huge, and so is the resort itself. So of course they drive you with a buggy, whenever you are not in a mood for a little walk. Your "room" is actually a cottage, suspended above tree foliage, with a sense of complete privacy, even though a next cottage is nearby. The view has depth which can only be experienced by the seashore, or at high altitude. The connection to nature is taken very seriously here, and can also be felt intensely everywhere - whether you are relaxing on the terrace of your cottage, or walking to the pool and spa, or just having dinner. Talking about dining. The selection and variety of meals is astonishing, and so is the flavor. The whole dining experience is wonderful - the taste, the drinks & cocktails, the fact that you are actually dining above the waterfall, prompt and kind service offered by every staff member (waiters and managers alike). I would especially like to spotlight Mr.Bishu, who was serving us for the duration of our stay. He was always professional, very kind, attentive to all our needs, and so polite.
