Wonderfully appointed room with so many amenities of drinks., toiletries, and snacks. The staff was amazingly accommodating and the room was huge, very much like a suite. It was a true treat to stay there!

The main house building was also very spacious and comfortable. The bikes were great for getting around town. And I absolutely loved the private Japanese garden in between the two buildings. even in the winter snow, it made it a delight to go back-and-forth between the two buildings to use the restroom or shower. I would have enjoyed staying another day. Thank you for offering such a restful and peaceful place to stay. I enjoyed my time here much more than I expected. It was lovely.

Breakfast was an incredible cultural experience, and the guided tour of the townhouses and shopping street gave me a historic context of Otsu that I didn’t know. The coffee bar with snacks and daily free aperitiv was wonderful. Awesome to have an old wellpoint in the building!

We had this delightful traditional home all to ourselves. It was a classic Japanese style with modern amenities like bathroom and kitchen. A little sun porch overlooked the cute little garden. The communication with our host was excellent ( he spoke English) and he kindly transported us to and from the train station. We made good use of the bicycles provided and really got to explore everywhere from the lake to the city moat that winds through the old town. It was a great place to explore. We stocked up on groceries from a big supermarket a short bike ride away. We stayed 2 nights and loved every minute of it.

An amazing property with Michelin level meals, outstanding customer service from the staff, wonderful facilities and views. We will definitely be back here again in the future. This is an authentic onsen. The baths are amazing and the hotel also has pop ups that support local vendors.
