This 4-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk. The accommodation provides a sauna, spa centre, restaurant and free WiFi throughout the property. One of the best hotels I visited in my 1 month-travel in Japan. The hotel has a great location and easy access to public transportation. It is a modern take on a traditional Japanese hotel. Tatami mats laid throughout the hotel elevates the whole place and truly allows one to relax much better after a day of sight seeing. The room has a quiet and peaceful atmosphere and tatami mats and with everything you need - TV, air-con, large shower, small fridge and all necessary amenities. The hotel also has a great location and easy access to public transportation. It is a modern take on a traditional Japanese hotel. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Great staff, was very kind and welcoming.

Located in Matsushima, 10 km from Shiogama Shrine, Matsushima Koumura features accommodation with a hot tub and a public bath. There is a private entrance at the ryokan for the convenience of those who stay. The ryokan provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. It was a great stay. We were greeted by the owner of the hotel, a very kind woman and her husband. During our stay we were very well treated: without asking our luggage was brought upstairs, we got nice gifts (sake) and lots of recommendations. The room was clean and spacious with a nice view, the futon mattresses were very comfy. The location was also perfect for us, not too far from the city center but also in a quiet neighbourhood. Above all we also really enjoyed the public bath.

Sendai Museum is a 15-minute train ride from Hotel Metropolitan Sendai East. Sendai Castle and Zuihoden are a 20-minute drive from the property, while Sakunami Hot Spring is located an hour away by car. Perfect location within close proximity to the station, food options all around. The room was luxurious. The hotel's photos don't really do it much justice! It looks and feels way better than some brand name five star hotels I've been in.

Situated in Takagi, 11 km from Shiogama Shrine, Bridge33 CAFE AND HOSTEL features air-conditioned accommodation and a bar. Sendai Toshogu is 23 km away and Rakuten Seimei Park Miyagi is 23 km from the hostel. Excellent value for your money. The hostel itself is nicely furnished, very clean and my stay there was absolutely pleasant. The owners are super friendly and glad to help or answer any questions. The breakfast offered in the cafe was delicious and I enjoyed the overall vibe there as well. The waterfront with the tourist attractions is about 15 minutes by foot, the train station about 5-10 minutes (depending which one you arrive at).

Set in Ishinomaki, within 37 km of Shiogama Shrine and 49 km of Sendai City Community Support Center, Tama Hotel offers accommodation with a restaurant and as well as free private parking for guests who drive. Featuring free bikes, the 2-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. The hotel has family rooms. If you love cats this is the nicest place you will ever be. The owner goes out of his way to help you taking hospitality to the next lever, even by Japanese standards. Mino helped us get to the ferry, made sure we had the opportunity to play and feed the hotel cats, upgraded our room. There's no words to thank all the kindness we received.

Sendai Toshogu is 21 km away and Rakuten Seimei Park Miyagi is 22 km from the guest house. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly our host, who guided us to a stunning spot where we could marvel at the cherry blossoms in full bloom. Not only was he exceptionally kind and welcoming, but his fluency in English made our experience even more enjoyable. His professionalism and dedication to his role make him truly deserving of the highest praise.

Tokinenoyado Yunushi Ichijoh is situated in the Kamasaki Onsen district in Shiroishi, a 15-minute drive from Shiroishi Station and Shiroishi-Zao Station. Guests can enjoy the on-site private dining room. Free private parking is available on site. The staff were incredibly accommodating, their care and attention made our visit relaxed and joyful, the Kaiseki was excellent and well balanced, showcasing local delicacies and providing an excellent view into tradition. Being able to use the Onsen with a tattoo and not having to cover it up was a pleasant surprise, the Onsen was excellent and very clean (I only used the outside pool). We were picked up by their free shuttle bus at the Shinkansen station and dropped off as well. We have to thank all of the staff, but a special mention should be given to Meguro, who took great care of us.

Located right in front of Matsushima Bay, Komatsukan Kofu-tei offers accommodations with free wired internet access. Guests can refresh in the public hot-spring baths and enjoy traditional multi-course meals in their rooms. A free shuttle is available from JR Matsushima Kaigan Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away. What a fantastic place to stay. Incredible staff, food, onsen, views, rooms! I loved it. I ate one of the most memorable meals of my life, and loved the tatami room. Private onsen maybe wasn't worth it considering hardly anyone was at the others when I was there, but it was very nice and no regrets! I do wish I had got the slow train from Sendai instead of the fast train, to see the seaside and arrive better situated in relation to the hotel. But that's my fault, but the hotel's! It had great access for some lovely sights, and when the rain started, I just enjoyed the onsen.
