The staff can also assist with bicycle rental which is ideal for exploring the Venta River and Livonian Order Castle, located less than 15 minutes’ from the hotel. Great location, simple but tasty breakfast. The owners are very nice. It's our second time in this hotel - we'll certainly come back once we visit Ventspils again!

Every hotel room has a different interior and there are no 2 identical rooms in the hotel. Some rooms have 4-metre-high ceilings and big windows. The oldest part of the hotel has smaller, compact rooms with small windows. Staff was very attentive and always ready to make our stay enjoyable and worry-free. Beginning with the receptionist who cheerfully greeted us upon entering and escorted us through the hotel to familiarize us with the hotel features and amenities and then led us to our room. A second receptionist warmly translated my parking citation (expensive 40€ lesson in parking sign interpretation) so that I could grudgingly but quickly pay the penalty online with a wire transfer from my US bank. The room was fantastic, large, well appointed, comfortable sofa, comfortable bed, coffee and tea, and well laid out bathroom. Loved it. The breakfast featured scrambled eggs, breakfast meats, various breads and pastries, fresh vegetables, cheeses, porridge, coffee and a wide choice of teas. Breakfast room staff was quickly clearing tables and keeping the buffet well stocked.

The hotel is located in an over 100-year-old renovated building, which is included in the Historical Heritage list of Latvia. In the interior of hotel you can see original stairs, paintings and maps of Liepaja from that time. Fabulous breakfast buffet. Best of our three week vacation in Estonia & Latvia. Host was super helpful providing directions to a music concert at a nearby church we were running late for.
