Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. Shortly after booking a room Shardul reached out to us and provided us with travel information. Once in Nepal our plans changed and Shardul was very helpful in picking us up and accommodating us an extra night. Upon arrival we immediately felt very welcomed and comfortable at this lovely homestay! Everyday Shardul and his family provided us with delicious Nepali meals made from the fresh vegetables and fruits from their garden. Thanks to the preparation and attention to detail there was always enough variety of food even on the long safari days. Our absolute highlight in Bardia was going on jeep and walking safaris with Shardul himself. With his professional experience and a bit of luck on our side, we were fortunate to spot the elusive tiger! Shardul’s competence in his profession and passion for wildlife conservation made us feel safe while out in the jungle. We regret having to leave and hope to be back in the future! Thank you Shardul + Family for you kind and warm hospitality!

Set in Bhurkīā, Nanu's Bardiya Homestay offers accommodation with a patio. There is a private entrance at the homestay for the convenience of those who stay. All rooms are equipped with a terrace with views of the garden. We stayed at Nanu’s homestay for a week and I can’t imagine a better experience in Bardia! Nanu and the family are incredibly kind people, and we felt deeply cared for the entire stay — would HIGHLY recommend staying with Nanu’s family. Safari experience: We came to Bardia with the hopes of seeing a tiger, and went on two full-day walking safaris, a full day jeep safari, and several sunset/sunrise safaris with Nanu. We were a bit naively unprepared for how much patience & luck is needed to spot big animals in Bardia, but Nanu truly pulled out all the stops to try to help us find wildlife, and in the end we were treated to rhino, leopard, gharial, and tiger sightings!!! It was very clear throughout how invested he was in helping guests have the best experience possible — he even organized a special sunrise safari for us on the day of our departure as a last-chance effort to see a tiger, which succeeded! Homestay experience: While wildlife is what we came to Bardiya for, the family homestay environment is what truly made it so special. Kali, Nanu’s wife, is extremely kind and welcoming, and is an excellent chef. She’s also a certified nature guide herself and does some junior guiding with Nanu, which is incredibly cool in a park where we didn’t see any other female guides. Their sons are very involved with guests and are a joy to talk to and learn from, and they have a very sweet dog as well. The family is happy to help with arrival/departure logistics, including organizing an early-morning tuk tuk from Ambassa and arranging bus tickets to Kathmandu/pokhara/elsewhere. Rooms: We stayed in the king room which was perfectly comfortable for two people. We had a big bed with a mosquito net & fan (though we didn’t need either in November), electrical outlets in the room, and a private attached bathroom with hot water. We also had a lovely front porch with wicker chairs to relax in, and there’s a shaded communal eating area for guests & family.

The location of the homestay is great, it is very close to the entrance of the national park. We had a great stay here, and had some incredible wildlife sightings (Rhinos, elephants, tigers, hornbills) thanks to the sharp eyes of Tek Bahadur (fondly called Pappu). Will definitely come to visit again!

The units at the bed and breakfast feature private entrance and soundproofing so guests can enjoy a peaceful stay. A terrace with an outdoor dining area and mountain views is offered in every unit. At the bed and breakfast, units are fitted with bed linen and towels. A beautiful property and lovely guest house very close to the bardiya national park entrance. The Cabins are big and cozy, each one quite far from the other so you get a lot of privacy and all around there are only trees and grass. It feels like really living in nature and not in a resort. The common dinning area is very nice, facing a beautiful river, and the food is good. Krishna and his wife are great hosts and they offer a lot of options to experience the park. Overall, a really amazing value-for-money place in bardiya

Riverside View Park Resort was an incredible experience! The stunning location by Bardia National Park provided the perfect mix of comfort and adventure. The staff was exceptional, always welcoming and helpful.
The jeep safari was unforgettable—I spotted tigers, rhinos, elephants, and deer in their natural habitat. The elephant-back safari and birdwatching tours offered a unique way to experience the park’s rich biodiversity. Rafting on the Karnali River was another highlight, with sightings of crocodiles and Gangetic dolphins.
After action-packed days, relaxing by the riverside, enjoying delicious Nepali food, and watching the sunset over the jungle was the perfect ending. This resort is a hidden gem and a must-visit for nature lovers!

Lovely homestay with spacious airconned rooms - a necessity if you are coming in the summer! Family were all super lovely and went out of their way to help - Sharduls wife Anku even accompanied me to the nearest mall when I needed some clothes for the hot weather. Everything is organised by the homestay including meals, safari, transport etc. Shardul was more than happy to help me plan my trip onwards too. Would recommend if you are visiting Bardia.
Such a friendly, family run place. Everyone went out of their way to ensure that we had a great time. Our guides did everything to help us find Tigers, rhinos and elephants while remaining safe. We had so many amazing sightings. We were initially only meant to stay 3 nights but ended up staying 7 and would have stayed longer if we could. Food was also amazing, we are every meal there.
Prakas & Baba are amazing owners & nature guides, very knowledgable! The cabines are basic but for the money really worth it! You have everything you need: mosquito net, good matress, shower with hot & cold water and a fan. Even when it was 42 degrees during the day it was cool enough at night. We had the best time here. We planned on staying for 3 nights and ended up staying 6.
We had a fabulous stay at Bardia Eco-Lodge. The rooms and gardens are lovely. This is a true rustic eco-lodge blending beautifully with the natural surroundings. The lodge is walking distance to both the Elephant Breeding Centre and the main entrance of Bardia National Park. Our host Madhu, is a certified safari guide and we enjoyed an exceptional day on private jeep safari with him and a driver seeing a tiger, rhinos, many deer and monkeys.
Felt very welcome, simple accommodation but very functional, and in a beautiful setting, a really short walk from the park gates and village. Baba and team were amazing and extremely knowledgeable and helpful with planning onwards journey. It was great to chat and hear about all the amazing work going into education and conservation, it was great to support this.
It was really nice! I stayed in Bardia Eco Friendly homestay for 3 nights and it was amazing! The garden is beautiful and there is a nice area to sit relax and eat the delicious food (which is fresh and different every day). I did a 2 day safari which was also amazing! The owner of the homestay guides and he is really passionate about it! He tried everything to show us the best sightings possible. In general I can say that it is a lovely place with really nice people!!! Definitely would recommend and come back!!
It is a little gem in Bardiya, very cosy and well decorated. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfy. The staff is super friendly and the food was great. I really enjoyed my stay.
I had the best time at the Homestay! Shardul and his family were so welcoming. The rooms are really nice and the beds are really comfortable (best sleep I had in Nepal!). The food was excellent as well! I did three safaris with Shardul. He always gave his best and was really motivated for me to see as much as possible. He is really good at his job because we had many amazing sightings of Tigers, Rhinos and so own. Can 100% recommend!
Great location very near National Park Entrance. Most memorable was meeting the loveliest people, staff and owners, you could hope to meet. Did everything they could to give us, an elderly couple - a great stay. Good safari - forest trek and evening outing. Unbelievable value for money. Unreservedly recommend for a no frills stay that will stick in your memory
The accommodation was very comfortable and clean. This place is the most affordable in the area with rooms with air conditioning, hot water and mosquito nest, which we loved. The restaurant menu was cheap too compared with other places we had stayed in the area. The staff is very friendly and goes beyond to help you (bought and took us to the bus station when we left).
