All stone houses and views of the valley and the next village over with the terraced gardens. Very nice hike with lots of steps up and down to the terraced gardens. Very tasty dinner and breakfast, recommended to add this! We only stayed one night but I would recommend two or three to soak in the views and atmosphere and enjoy the facilities. Great communication, easy pick up for transport up the mountain and back again to the car.

The view is that incredible and there’s entrance to the balcony from both the bedroom & living room. You’re also on the doorstep of one villages walking trial. He has big fluffy blankets, comfortable chairs, and a library of interesting books on Omani forts, geology, and wadis. You could spend a winter here easily. The kitchen is set up in a logical way and is easy to work in. Ahmed himself is very kind and sent his brother to rescue me when I had car trouble on the mountain. A next door neighbor gave me a tour of his rose water distillery. Good vibes in the whole town. Basically, you couldn’t ask for better.

The guest house offers mountain views, a sun terrace, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi is available. This was a highlight of our trip to the Middle East. Our bedroom and bathroom were beautiful. We are happy we stayed 2 nights because it takes a while to get to this village. Every evening was a special dinner starting with sitting by the fire with other guests and learning about the village history. That’s a very special way to end the day. All the home cooked food was spectacular. In the morning we loved our private tour to the 3 villages and walking along the terraced gardens. Highly recommend it (they drive). Then we did a hike around the mountain which was really pretty. We stopped by the cafe many times for a delicious juice drink or coffee, with a view of the mountains.

This was arguably one of the most unique charming places I have ever visited. Truly enchanting and one of a kind and I can’t wait to come back. That said, two minor negatives. Mosquitos in the area were troublesome, especially with the incredible indoor/outdoor layout. I think some citronella candles would have helped. Had I known I would have brought mosquito repellant. The only other item was that there was a gathering on the floor above us and kept us up late. Not sure what could be done about neighbors gathering and having a good time, just surprising that the voices so easily penetrated through the walls and ceiling. I used white noise to drown out most of it. Neither issue would cause me to hesitate from returning as the Arish house was a remarkable and amazing little stay in a serene and majestic location.
