Fantastic big wooden bungalow right by the river with netting on ceiling and windows, so we were protected from mosquitos. Feeling like sleeping outdoors in the jungle. Comfortable beds, even a hairdryer, which was not provided in many other hotels! Emmanuel and his family are very welcoming. They have a water dispenser for people to use on their terrace. One morning I was thirsty and thought I go quietly to get some water, as not to wake anybody up - only to be greeted by several "hola's" from Antonia. She with all the other animals are a delight to watch. Highly recommend to stay there. We also ate there and the cooking was very good. Emanuel organised a trip for us, we were totally looked after. We were picked up by our bungalow by boat, dropped off again and Emanuel's son awaited us with a torchlight as it was dark.

Enai is located in the forest, on the shore of the Madre de Dios River, 15 minutes from the city of Puerto Maldonado. Enai has a restaurant, outdoor pool, bar and garden. We initially planned to stay 2 nights at this hotel then our return flight was cancelled and the team at Enai was extremely helpful in picking us up from the airport and accommodating a new room for us with such short notice. Claudia who helps organize the tours is very flexible and helped us book the tours that were of most interest to us at our preferred timings (canopee walk and lake Sandoval highly recommended) The food is really good which is very important as you are likely to have several meals at the hotel. Room is very spacious and clean. Would recommend booking rooms with AC as it gets quite humid and hot at night.

Hacienda Herrera Tambopata ligt in Puerto Maldonado met uitzicht op de tuin en heeft een restaurant, een 24-uursreceptie, bar, tuin en terras. Er is gratis WiFi. Het eten was echt heerlijk en elke dag wat anders. En de tour guides (shoutout naar Chris) zijn vriendelijk én weten ontzettend veel van de dieren en de omgeving. 10/10 aanrader!

Kapievi Ecovillage biedt accommodatie in Puerto Maldonado en beschikt over een vegetarisch restaurant. De accommodatie ligt op 15 minuten rijden van het belangrijkste plein van de stad. Very comfortable stay. Anthony has created a beautiful oasis and the pool/ yoga hut was a fantastic way to help with the heat. Spacious room with air con. Very filling breakfast, friendly staff and hot water available. About a 5-10 min ride away from town centre which is enough to get away from the noise but close enough to duck out for a meal. Wish we had a few more nights!

Refugio Chabelita Hostel beschikt over een tuin, een restaurant, een bar, en biedt accommodatie in Puerto Maldonado met gratis WiFi en uitzicht op de tuin. The staff were very nice and very helpful. On the day of arrival in the afternoon they took us on a short tour of surroundings where they showed us local plants and the river. We event got to taste the raw cacao beans. They helped us call and order taxi because we don’t speak Spanish and Uber doesn’t work here. They have a small shop with fruits, bread, sweets and salts. Breakfast was excellent. We got avocado every day. With some rice, eggs or tamales. We also got bread and coffee or tea.

All rooms are equpipped with fan and AC and private bathroom and fridge. Clean place all over. Theres a bar, a beautiful pool and the host is fantastic and very friendly. Even took us out to buy some food anf other stuff. Helped us with everything. This place wilk make you chill out. Its worth it. There is harldy anything bad we can mention.

CHOMI HOUSE TAMBOPATA bevindt zich in Puerto Maldonado en biedt accommodatie met een buitenzwembad, gratis WiFi, een tuin en een terras. The stay at Chomi House was a dream come true. Everything and I really mean everything was perfect. We were even picked up by our host from the airport and he took us back with all our luggage. Elmer and his family are very friendly, helpful and we felt a 100% safe and welcome all the time. The house is very clean, comfortable and we loved the hammocks and the pool. The best thing of all, what we discovered later on, are the tours he organises. Very IMPORTANT!!!!! Book the tours at his place since they are perfectly organised and better than similar once in get your guide. We did two tours and we got professional guides who really knew what they do!!!! We regret not having known that from the beginning. Communication was always very smooth and easy. We will definitely return!!

The property has two individual bungalows that are very spacious, with high ceilings, good bathroom and fly screens all around the windows. Nicolas is absolutely wonderful, very kind, very friendly and very respectful. He can organise daily tours, they were excellent. The tours were with small groups (less than 8 pax). Nicolas cooked very tasty meals. The property is located away from town, which means you have lovely nature around you, but Nicolas was very helpful in driving us to places we needed. The bungalows had a balcony, wifi and hot showers. The two dogs that live there are truly beautiful, we miss their cuddles already. Nicolas helped us find birds and a sloth nearby. There are squirrel monkeys nearby. The property is located near other resorts if you need a pool or river access. We enjoyed this property for its local community and wildlife, its excellent value for a small business. My only recommendation would be to have a tea/coffee making facilities available all day, and a large shower mat to catch excess water.
