Centrally located on the Broome Peninsula, Broome Time Resort offers self-contained accommodation with a flat-screen TV and DVD player. Breakfast each day was wonderful, and gave us the opportunity to mingle with other guests and talk about travels and experiences. The room was beautifully air conditioned and instructions to leave the a/c on while absent was really useful in the tropical weather. We had a family room, which meant that our daughter could have the bedroom and we had the bed in the living area, which was handy for our night time trips to the toilet. The pool was just lovely, and it was relaxing to sit with our feet in the water after a big day out.

Welcome to Broome’s longest standing hospitality establishment. Our iconic hotel was founded back in 1890 as respite for the pearling crews and pioneer workers of the era, a tradition that we are... Pinctada McAlpine House has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and bar in Broome. This 4-star hotel offers a concierge service, a tour desk and free WiFi. Pinctada McAlpine House is a tranquil, peaceful boutique hotel that is an absolute paradise in Broome. I love the antique-style wooden decor accommodation, and the beds are so comfortable. The rooms have all the comforts of home - TV, bathroom, shower, mini fridge, closet, chests of drawers, etc. I also loved spending all day sitting and swimming in the pool, or laying back on the lounges in the garden area. The property is situated amongst high trees which create a cosy canopy hideaway feeling with birds singing throughout the day. There is a continental breakfast served each morning between 7:30 am and 9am. Served are: homemade yoghurt (with fruit, museli and honey), brewed coffee, tea, cereals and toast. There is a different, surprise cooked breakfast each day (crepes, omelettes, eggs on toast with veggies, etc). The highlight of our stay was the gracious kindness and attentiveness of our host and manager, Ronaldo. He took such great care and interest in every individual guest to have the best possible stay. His restaurant recommendations are second to none. The property is so beautiful, tranquil and comfortable. It is also central, close to a bud stop, restaurants, and short walk or drive to markets, shops and beaches. You can take the bus or drive to Cable Beach, without having to constantly deal with the crowds and chaos when you get back. But Ronaldo's exceptional care exceeded expectations.
After-hours check in to Broome Vacation Village was awkward with the need the program the outdoor safe 3-row tumblers with a number that was sent to you by email but only partly sent by sms. Dialing in the numbers from the sms did not work, you had to use the numbers given in the email but we did not know this subtly. All other aspects of Broome Vacation Village were fantastic but the Chalet cabins are clustered together and there is a bit of a walk (3-minutes) from the parking bays at the front of the cluster. There are many activities in Broome to keep you occupied: - 3-hour fishing trip with Absolute Ocean Charters was fabulous and rewarding. - Late arvo sunset cruise was fabulous. - The swimming and facilities below Cable Beach Surf Clubhouse are excellent anywhere between 1/3rd and full tide but not recommended at low tide. - Ditto Gantheaume Point beach where you have the added ability to drive on the beach to find a less densely populated spot to swim. - Visit to lighthouse and walk around the historic house grounds was well worth the effort. PS: We did the Cable Beach camel ride 2-years ago but didn't worry about it this year however highly recommended if you haven;t done it before.
Broome is an iconic place to visit, and we will spend more time there in the near future. Does tend to be expensive however due to its popularity and remoteness. The old town is pleasant to visit and many iconic shops to visit, particularly if looking for pearls! There are wildlife parks and other attractions as well - try a sunset camel ride.
We were in Broome at the end of the dry season, start of the wet season. Sometimes called the build up. It is hot for someone coming straight from a cooler climate. The atmosphere of the town is relaxed and welcoming. I think it would be a great escape from the colder states during their winter.
Pick your time to visit carefully. In wet season many things are closed or do not operate. If you hire a car a 4 WD Is advised due to some places of interest are on unsealed roads with corrugations.
For us ,in our 70s, with a sick wife and a small budget 3 days was good to see everything , like most of Australia everything is expensive, but everyone wants a big wage and the cost of living being so high it's justified
Very different to anywhere I had been in Australia, Great food, beaches and weather great but starting to get humid. Unfortunately, we could not see the staircase to moon as no happening at this time of the year. Spinifex Brewery, Matso's and Dragonfly Cafe was fabulous
