This is a truly family run resort with three generations of Willis’s to help us with our trip. The cabins were basic but perfect for what we needed. Highly recommend the early morning bird watching tour, so peaceful out on the river and we saw incredible wildlife. A definite highlight. We also appreciated their honesty when the heavens opened and they suggested we shouldn’t do their night walk - excellent advice!

A recently renovated bed and breakfast situated in Tortuguero, near Tortuguero Beach, Cabinas Tortuguero Sports Fishing features free WiFi, a private beach area and a garden. Primo and his wife welcomed us perfectly, taking care of all our needs, recommending good restaurants and a tour guide. The tranquility and atmosphere around were exactly what we needed after landing in Costa Rica.

Set in Tortuguero and with Tortuguero Beach reachable within a few steps, Chinitas Eco Lodge offers a tour desk, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a terrace. Guests can enjoy garden views. Chinitas Eco-Lodge is in San Francisco, a quiet village north of Tortuguero. We booked the deluxe queen room: perfect for our family, basic but clean, with good AC, and surprisingly bug-free! Breakfast was tasty, with coffee/tea, fruit, and a hot platter, and there are several wonderful hammocks for relaxing by the river. However, the best part our stay were the people: 1) Ana, one of the owners, was so warm and helpful (and patient with my attempts at basic Spanish) and her staff were equally friendly; and 2) Owen the tour guide was FANTASTIC: he has such passion for conservation, has a a sharp eye for spotting wildlife, and was instrumental in getting us to the right spots for turtle nesting. Strongly recommend booking the morning Canal tour as well as the late night Turtle tour with Owen, and booking the lodge in general if you want a welcoming, authentic experience!

Situated in Tortuguero, Cabañas Daneysha has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, restaurant, and free WiFi throughout the property. My bf and I loved the hosts, humble and attentive. The hostess is very communicative, Gloria makes your stay pleasant due to the tours and advices she offers, the tours were guided by her husband, Sergio who speaks English as well, has lots of knowledge and the fact that you were in a private tour and transported from the Cabins to the tour and viceversa. It’s very secure and lovely

Offering a garden, swimming pool and a wellness center with massage services. Aninga Lodge is located 3.2 km from Tortuguero National Park. Whilst you need to get a water taxi, this hotel is completely worth being on the other side of the water. The wildlife is absolutely incredible, with monkeys outside our room and sightings of lots of other animals!

With pool views, Laguna Lodge Full Board is set in Tortuguero and has a restaurant, a tour desk, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. Exceptional location! Did appreciate the full board proposition and do recommend to everyone to take this option when going to Tortugero. Very organised with taking guests to visit the surroundings and respectfull of nature and local community.

The staff was very nice, Dona Lidiette was very nice and attentive. The staff was very helpful as well. We loved it. There was a very nice young man called Jorge, very helpful. He provided excellent information. Amazing customer service.
