Despina met us at the airport and allowed us to follow her to her place. She welcomed us in to the property which was much more spacious than we thought. 2 large bedrooms, a new kitchen, lounge area and 2 big bathrooms. Everything was new and very clean. The property had a washing machine and also a large outdoor area with a table and area to hang clothes to dry. The location was right next to the airport, but we didn't notice the noise. It is located a 3 minute drive from some of the most expensive resorts on the island. Really well priced.

Verkehrstechnisch kommt man von Pythagoreio überall hin, täglich mehrmals gehen öffentliche Busse, nach Samos Stadt und nach Ireon. Die Autovermietungen liegen fast alle in der selben Straße. Die Restaurant in der Stadt bieten eine sehr hohe Qualität. Doch absolut die Krönung der gastronomischen Kunst bietet das Cafe "Two Spoon" in diesem lohnt es sich einen Abend zu verbringen.

Ireo hat uns sehr gut gefallen, da es ein kleiner gemütlicher Ort zum wohlfühlen ist. Für einen ruhigen Strandurlaub ist es optimal. Möchte man allerdings Ausflüge machen, benötigt man auf jeden Fall ein Auto. Für mich als Vegetarierin war es in den Restaurants nicht ganz einfach, etwas zu essen zu finden. Jedoch sind die Vorspeisen fast immer vegetarisch und sehr lecker. Meistens habe ich mir mehrere davon bestellt.

Ideale Lage für Ausflüge, kurzer Weg nach Pytagoreo und Flughafen, viele Strände in der Nähe. Die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten sind in unmittelbarer Nähe: Hera-Tempel, Kloster, Wasser-Tunnel, Pythagoras-Denkmal. Auch kann man vom Hafen aus Ausflüge auf andere Inseln und sogar in die Türkei nach Ephesos und der letzten Wohnstätte der Heiligen Maria machen (im Reisebüro buchen! Regina Travel ist sehr empfehlenswert)

Ireo ist eine Antike Stadt mit großer Geachichte gewidmet der Göttin Hera Im Museum vom Samos stammen fast alle Ausstellungsstücke aus Ireon. Man kann die Ausgrabestätte besuchen und Teile des Tempels von Hera besuchen.
