WE were there for 5 days, which is just about right. We did it all--the ferry to Kowloon, Mt. Victoria, the markets, and a day trip to Lamma Island. HK is a fascinating, busy, vibrant city but beware of the crowds, especially on Sunday, when the entire city seems to be out and about. Victoria Peak was a great lookout, but again, the crowds! Nonetheless, we enjoyed out time there, and the food especially was awesome: the dim sum street stalls, seafood on Lamma Island, every type of Asian cuisine and a good selection of Western food as well, from Argentinian steak houses to Italian lasagna. In all, a food lovers paradise!
What I like most was the night views of the city skyline and the local cuisine. Hong Kong is a city with a perfect transportation system that makes it easy to explore also by walking. I enjoyed every part of the trip, so it is hard to point anything I disliked.
Hong kong- Xiang Gang is a metropole with a very interesting history. It offers all kinds of different and vivid experiences. In terms of architecture, colonial buildings, Chinese style, multicultural and cosmopolitain environment it has a lot to offer to the visitor. To walk around in places we recognise from iconic movies is a bonus. And the view of the harbour, from the Peak, the crossing in one of the ferries still at use... a one of a kind experience. If you are a foodie and you like shopping, it is also a place to lose yourself into... And I did not mention yet the museums! If you are a history buff, you should not miss this adventure!
Brilliant place. Eat at any local noodle place, not a steakhouse, pub or Costa, Starbucks or any of that commercial genering stuff. Don't forget to visit the surrounding hills including Victoria peak
If you’ve visited Hong Kong in the past, you can skip it now. The city has gone downhill. It used to be the vibrant, colourful tiger of Asia; today it feels like just another large, characterless Chinese metropolis. It’s simply not worth the time. You’re better off going to Singapore, Hanoi, Manila — really, almost anywhere else.
Vibrant and multicultural Lots of eateries and restaurants Lots of malls Clean and well maintained with proper signage Very good transportation system English speaking cab drivers mostly Friendly and helpful people Happy to go back!
