Tangs is set in Ísafjörður. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are available at the apartment free of charge. We recently had the pleasure of staying at Tangs in Ísafjörður. Despite its central location, the apartment is in a tranquil setting adjacent to a park. The building is historical, but the interior has been modernly renovated. However, it still preserves its old charm with thoughtful touches like displaying old carpentry tools behind glass and printing historical photos taken outside the building on the walls. One of these photos was so naturally integrated that we didn’t even realize there was a door behind it leading to the bathroom! The kitchen was extremely user-friendly and well-equipped. It had not only pots, pans, and cooking utensils, but also an abundance of coffee, tea, spices, and condiments—far more than we usually have at home, which we found incredibly convenient. There were also reasonably priced wine and beer available, and complimentary soda, including cola and orange juice. We only met the owner at checkout, but he was very kind and gave us excellent advice on a driving route. Thanks to his suggestion, we were able to see seals, which we would have missed otherwise. Although we stayed for only two nights this time, we would love to come back and stay longer on our next visit to Ísafjörður, especially to see the puffins again. Thank you so much for providing such a wonderful experience!

The drive to Isafjorour we stopped at Dynjandi Waterfall called Thundering Waterfall. It is actually several waterfalls topped by a bridal veil large fall. Well worth the steep hike up. One of the most beautiful waterfall we visited in Iceland. The drive back toward Reykjavik was stunning along five fjords and many waterfalls. Glacier views. Lava fields. And mountains. So wanted to eat at Tjoruhusid. But needed a reservation and could not get in. Recommend making a reservation before you leave home. A perfect ending to our trip to the Westfjords.
Interesting in itself; however, you need a car to explore the area. Side roads, not too difficult, lead to many beautiful sights. I probably said "Wow" more in the few days in Westfjords than any other time.
Stayed two nights in this gem of a town. First night we camped and it was a fantastic campground. Second night was calling for snow so stayed in the hostel. Best Bonus grocery store we have seen with prices much less than anywhere else in Iceland.
This town is wonderful and quaint. The setting is stunning, with mountains surrounding the entire town. The people there are very friendly, and it is easy to walk around. The streets have beautiful flower plantings, and there is a fun nughtclub where you can meet local townspeople. We highly recommend it!
The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region. If you have a rental car, you can drive anywhere else you'd like to see, but Ísafjörður has the most options for town activities. The location in the fjord is incredible. I would visit again.
Very nice town. Was the starting and stopping point for multiple day bicycle tour of Westfjords. People were great especially Tyler Wacker of Cycling Westfjords who provided advice and support for our tour.
