She was on hand the whole time even though she had no idea of my story, she was a friendly welcoming lady and I'm grateful I came here for the night. It was immaculately clean, welcoming and the extra touches like a coffee machine with supplies and cakes. Absolutely excellent. The air conditioning was a god send as I had been camping all week. Everything is thought about and the price is excellent. Thank you for a great stay x

Catania ist eine wunderbare, lebhafte und freundliche Stadt.
Catania ist eine wunderbare, lebhafte und freundliche Stadt. Geeignet für Badeurlaube, Wandertrips oder Städtereisen. Die Stadt verfügt über den Charme des Alten, etwas Verfallenen. Hochglanzurlaub ist nicht drin, aber wer sich auf "der Lack ist ab" einlassen kann, wird hier wunderschöne Tage verleben können und sich jeden Tag aufs Neue für Berge, Meer, Shopping, lazy beach day oder Geschichtsexkursion entscheiden können. Neuseeland hat alles? Vielleicht. Aber für Europäer liegt "alles" viel näher: come to Sicily, come to Catania. Und nee, ich werd nicht dafür bezahlt. Ich finde die Stadt einfach nur phantastisch ❤️

In Catania landeten wir, und übernachteten wir auch.
In Catania landeten wir, und übernachteten wir auch. Von dort aus machten wir mit dem Zug Abstecher nach Taormina und Syrakus, und mit dem Bus Abstecher nach Aci Castello und Aci Trezza. Catania selbst bietet einige interessante Sehenswürdigkeiten, Abseits der Sehenswürdigkeiten sahen wir einiges an Müll in der Stadt.

Die Zentrum und die Gegen um das Zentrum herum, dort wo wir ein Appartment hatten, ist nicht schön. Das Zentrum ist in Ordnung, viel los, viele Touristen, doch es riecht überall nach Unrat bzw. die Straßen sind nicht sauber.

Wir haben Catania als sehr schmutzig empfunden sowie auch die ganze Insel Sizilien. Überall z.B. bei Parkplätzen oder Inseln im Kreisverkehr überall Müll sowie den Strassen entlang. Bei unseren Ausflügen auf der Insel mit dem Mietauto haben wir in verschiedenen zufällig ausgewählten Restaurants gegessen und waren immer sehr zufrieden. (man muss halt mutig sein bei der Menuewahl) Wir benutzten den Stadtbus das aber einige Zeit beanspruchte um die richtige Linie zu finden wurden aber immer von den Einheimischen sehr herzlich beraten und informiert.
