Now my second time and my go for place to stay on this beautiful island. i enjoy the tatami room, but also there is one room with a western bed. a kitchen with everything what is needed to prepare food and tea / coffee. I hope you enjoy this place like I do.

古民家のお宿ふうす, a property with a terrace and barbecue facilities, is located in Amami, 7 km from Oshima Tsumugi Museum, 22 km from The Remains of Nanshu Saigo, as well as 32 km from Tida Mall Shopping... The owner was so kind and helpful throughout our entire stay. She shared with us fresh tropical fruits and even her home made Tempura of vegetables from the island. She also lent us kids toys for our three year old daughter and a bouncer for our baby. She works at a souvenir shop literally right across the house, and her house was next door, so she was easy to contact if we needed help. The house itself is an old traditional house, and it is very spacious and came with everything we needed. Like the other reviews mention, the floor plan could be a bit confusing, but for a traditional house, it is very normal. Some parts of the house are rustic but that did not bother us. The kitchen has all sorts of appliances so it was very convenient for us to prepare meals at home. They even have an outdoor grill, and that was definitely one of our favorite memories of staying at this house. Our toddler enjoyed running around the house, and we didn’t have to worry too much about being too loud because we had the entire house to ourselves. Overall we had a fantastic time, thank you for the warm hospitality!

The location had a lot of beautiful spots around it and sitting down with Take-San in the evening while trying out all types of Amami Shochu was a lot of fun.

All they things you need are available in this nice modern big appartement. More than enough clean towels, nice beds, decent bathroom, kingsize tv, good kitchen and even a good washing machine. What is not to like?

Featuring garden views, terya features accommodation with terrace, around 1.9 km from Tsuchihama Beach. There is a private entrance at the holiday home for the convenience of those who stay. Loved the clearness!! The property was beautifully functional and minimal. That made us really comfortable. It is not super close to the beach but the view of Amami island’s nature is just there!! Got to check the morning sunrise from the window.
