The location was perfect for a stay in this part of Malta. Getting there at night from the Airport on foot in thirty minutes. Do not worry if on Google maps you see photos of construction sites - those are outdated photos! It is all built and paved now, nice to walk on (July 2025). Facilities and cleanliness were spot on.

Attard is in a central position between Valetta and Mdina with regular buses to both. It is a charming village and we went to Jalies a high end coffee and light bites cafe (but does burgers, pasta too). It is walking distance frm Balzan, another lovely village, with plenty of places to eat and drink. Zmerc bar is lively and brings endless free tapas- very good value and fun!

The only location to consider staying in the Three Cities...
The only location to consider staying in the Three Cities area is Birgu. A small place with quaint streets and lovely architecture. No 2 bus takes you to Valletta or you can walk just along the waterside to the ferry. A number of places to eat in the village square or along the waterfront make Birgu a great relaxing destination or base to visit Malta. Had a fabulous tasty meal at BeBirgu in their pretty courtyard. The only thng we would avoid if visiting Birgu again would be to stay at 12-16 Pacifiku Scicluna. Not a good accommodation (see reviews for room 2). Please avoid it.

We loved the beautiful back streets, the local people were so kind and friendly. Everyone wS do incredibly helpful. The cuisine was delicious and we loved Jeff's patitsis especially the pea. The harbour view and long board walk was breathtaking, so much history here. So much to see. Its such an incredible place. A little hidden treasure. One of the most beautiful cities in the world.

They do not intrude on privacy and are happy to give tips on tours, restaurants and shops around the island. A mixture of village and town, extremely quiet, almost deserted by night ( at least where we stayed), which gives you the possibility of nice walks and sightseeing without being disturbed by noisy crowds. Very well connected to Valletta and other areas, close to the airport. In fact, there are a lot of places around Tarxien where you can get by foot. It gave me the feeling of being stuck in time and I totally adored it and the vibes that not only Tarxien, but entire Malta gives you. I would come back any time - in fact I am already planning a longer trip there. Simply amazing!
