I have been traveling together with my girlfriend to the Maldives and we really didn't know how it's going to be on a local island. Shahid (host) is a person that sets value on good communication beforehand as well as on the trip itself. Before we came there, we chatted via WhatsApp about everything important (flights, diving license, prices etc.). That helped a lot because we felt informed all the way through. I wanted to dive, but my girlfriend cannot. So, she could stay on the boat, could do some snorkeling while I was diving. Shahid managed everything and paid much attention on us feeling good. We could ask him anything at any time. The stay at La Cabana was way better than expected because of the very personal contact to the super-friendly staff. All in all, the staff works in a very professional way, is reliable, open-minded, funny and makes you think of cancelling your flight back. :) We definitely would recommend staying at La Cabana. If you are looking for a family-like guesthouse offering many awesome diving and snorkeling trips, you should book here.

We were relocated to this hotel after our original well-marketed hotel on the same island was overbooked, despite our early booking and confirmation. This hotel has far exceeded our expectations. The room was spotless, spacious, with a balcony, ample lighting, and a lovely bath with a shower. Daily water and coffee were offered, and cleaning services were excellent. The staff was incredibly polite, friendly, and helpful—from reception & restaurant team to managers & cleaners. We were consistently offered assistance, from rides to Bikini Beach to food and amenities. The perfect balance of personal space and attentive service made our stay incredibly relaxing. Although we didn’t take any excursions (as we just wanted to enjoy the ocean), the hotel also offers various trips, snorkeling, diving, and experiences with whale sharks, mantas, and coral reefs, with equipment provided. We loved the hotel so much that when our original booking became available, we chose to stay here instead. The breakfast, dinner and local Maldivian meals were good & filling. The hotel’s restaurant offers a diverse menu, with local, Sri Lankan, European, and South Asian dishes, plus desserts. It’s also open to guests from other hotels & locals, all of whom we've seen coming a lot. Our return trip to Male was flawlessly organized through the hotel, with staff assisting with luggage and escorting us to the jetty. We highly recommend this hotel and its fantastic staff! We’re now eager to return and explore the Maldives' stunning underwater world.

Food was so delicious that it actually made me revise my previous prejudices against Asian/Indian food. Chicken curry here has nothing in common with the turmeric sadness you get in the West. Actually all the dishes from the curry list are fantastic. There is also a breakfast option with tuna salad and Indian bread that is the best. The snorkeling experience included in the price was very exciting. The hotel is located in the middle of a community, which helps you get a glimpse into the real life of people living on this island. There is also a kind of private beach at 10 minutes walking from the hotel. I believe you cannot get more value for money in the Maldives.

Die Unterkunft hat eine super Lage, man läuft nicht mal 2 Minuten zum Strand. Das Personal ist super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es gab sogar noch kurz vor Abreise Frühstück. Die Zimmer waren auch sehr schön und klimatisiert. Es wurden auch Ausflüge organisiert und die An und Abreise wurde für uns erledigt. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

I spent 7 nights at Vilu Residence and can strongly recommend this guesthouse to anyone who wants to discover the incredible beauty of the Maldives off the beaten track of island resorts. Here, you will have the comfort, peace, and charm of going as local as you can. The guesthouse is run by an extremely helpful and friendly host, who will provide you with the most detailed advice about the restaurants on the island; he will also assist you in organizing day trips and outings from the island. Rai will go out of his way to accommodate your needs. He met me on arrival and took me to the airport before I flew back to Malé. He also arranged my transfers to and from the island by speed boat and plane. The breakfast provided was delicious and fulfilling. It was also varied, giving me a choice and taste of continental and Maldivian options. The guesthouse itself is new, clean, and well equipped. The staff look after it thoroughly. The village has 2 amazing beaches, one of which - the guest beach - is a perfect place for relaxation and exercise. If I could, I would return to Villu Residence for a retreat, combining work and rest. If you have not decided yet on where to stay in the Maldives, you should select this accommodation.
