We seriously lucked out with our stay here. From the moment we pulled up to the quiet location and sea breeze we were over the moon with the place and it only for better from there. The accommodation is spacious, clean and well equipped. Julian was a super host and made sure we were happy throughout our stay. Antal has friendly, helpful staff full time that even brought us fresh coconuts our first day. There are kayaks and paddle boards available for use and loads of fun games in the communal area. We spent a few blissful days just at the salt water pool enjoying the views. I cannot recommend this place enough and we will be back! The one detail I would add is you really need a car to make the most of the area.
Monsoon season, meant a lot of sea weed on beaches although locals trying to keep of top of its removal and in the sea , stopping swimming, mosquitoes due to damp humid weather . Taxi is very expensive as no other public transport,so they can charge what they want , hire of scooters is cheaper.
Tulum was beautiful, we loved the white sandy beach and the selection of restaurants for dinner, especially La Malinche and Ziggys. We would highly recommend Dune Boutique Hotel, right on the beach and they provide bikes to cycle around. We walked everywhere mostly. We visited Cenote Hapen Ha which was lovely. On the way in there is a wonderful bar on the left. We did a day trip to Chichén Itzá which was great.
We live in NYC, and were flabbergasted at the prices. The lack of beach access unless you go to a beach club is wild. Glad we ticked it off for the cenotes, and some restaurants such as ARCA that were worth the price tag, but other than that would skip it in the future and not go back
The centre of Tulum has a lovely vibe, with one great vegetarian restaurant (la Hoja Verde) and reasonably priced ahopping. The public beaches are nice and a good place to spot iguanas, but are a hassle to get to and are closed at 5pm! Taxis are overpriced.
WAY to expensive. the 'public' beach will not allow food, plastic or beers on the beach so theres that. everything is built like crap and basically just meant for instagram. it wasnt what it used to be- i was there in 2019. I wont be going back, there are sooo many more places in mexico that i have been that are much much much better.
