Boasting a year-round outdoor pool, Dead Valley Lodge in Sesriem features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive. Lovely hotel just inside the gate to Sossuvlei, allowing you extended access to the park. Expensive for sure but tastefully designed and we enjoyed the food provided. Pool was ice cold but helps to compensate for the desert heat during the time of year (we came in November). Staff were super kind and accommodating. Room was comfortable. If you're not into camping but want the early access to the park, this is the way to go.

Actually we were re-booked to another hotel Le Mirage. All our feedback is based on the experience at Le Mirage. It happned that Sossusvlei Lodge had technical issues (water supply) and we were re-booked to another hotel. It was organized very smoothly. By the way, we had dinne at Sossusvlei Lodge restaurant and the food was great! Buffet in open terrace. We tasted different kind of grilled meat (Eland, Kudu, beef, oryx).

Great location for visiting the dunes. Private and quiet accommodation. Breakfast up the road was wonderful. Lovely pool area and bar. Helpful staff.

We had an amazing time at Desert Lodge and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The accommodation was fantastic, offering stunning views and breathtaking sunsets that we will never forget. One of the highlights was the affordable and delicious BBQ option, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The proximity to Dead Vlei was also perfect – it made visiting the iconic site so easy and convenient. Additionally, we loved relaxing by the pool and had a great time at the bar. The entire atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, and we truly felt at home. The staff were exceptional — caring, attentive, and genuinely kind. You could feel that they truly wanted to make every moment perfect, and they did. Their warmth and thoughtfulness made us feel completely at home. The trip to the dunes was an absolute highlight. Our guide, Paolo, was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, which made the experience even more meaningful. Everything about Hoodia Lodge felt deeply personal and special. It’s one of those rare places that touches your heart — a place I would return to in a heartbeat. It truly felt like home.
