My stay at Bardiya Eco Safary Homestay was nothing more than exceptional! Since before my arrival to Bardiya, Mukti was making sure through what's app that I knew how to arrive at Bardiya since I was crossing from the west border from India to Nepal. The moment I arrived I was received with so much kindness by Renuka (Mukti's wife) and he's mother with a beautiful little Hindu greeting. Showed me to my room which was clean, spacious, with its own attached bathroom and a beautiful view from the garden outside. In the beginning I booked for 3 nights but ended up staying 8 days because of how amazing and loving everything in the homestay was. From the delicious cooking of Renuka to the incredible hospitality of all members of Mukti's family. They make you feel like family. I did 3 jungle walks. Because my main purpose was to be lucky enough to see a tiger in the wild! And I can say (with a big smile while writing this) that Mukti made my DREAM (since I was 6 years old) come true! I was able to see a majestic tiger drinking water on my first jungle walk! Not just that but spotted rhinos, many kinds of birds, otters hunting for a snake and many more fauna inside the national park. All of these was possible due to Mukti's incredible knowledge of the place and animals. And this is just one of all the incredible things I experienced at Bardiya Eco Safary Homestay! Everyday I ate delicious traditional and organic Nepalese food. Everything is grown in the homestay garden. They even make their own paneer! Oh how I miss Renuka's delicious food! We played cards every night, enjoying great conversations about Nepalese culture and about life in the terai region...Learned how to make momos from scratch. Went around town to experience the local life. And even did a little ride at night around the town with Mukti's nephew in which we were lucky enough to spot a leopard crossing the street!!!

Boasting a bar, a garden and garden views, Tiger Tops Karnali Lodge is situated in Bardia National Park. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. Very comfortable wonderful lodge. It is an ‘institution’ in the safari sector of Nepal and deservedly so. The management (BC), staff and guides (Bhim in particular) are all incredible, nothing is too much trouble.

Bhurkīā (Surkhet Airport: 40,4 km)
Die in Bhurkīā gelegene Unterkunft Nanu's Bardiya Homestay bietet kostenloses WLAN, einen Garten mit einer Terrasse sowie Gartenblick. We stayed at Nanu’s homestay for a week and I can’t imagine a better experience in Bardia! Nanu and the family are incredibly kind people, and we felt deeply cared for the entire stay — would HIGHLY recommend staying with Nanu’s family. Safari experience: We were hoping to see a tiger, and went on two full-day walking safaris, a full day jeep safari, and several sunset/sunrise safaris with Nanu. A lof of patience & luck is needed to spot big animals, but Nanu pulled out all the stops to try to help us find wildlife, and in the end we were treated to rhino, leopard, gharial, and tiger sightings!!! Nanu is very invested in helping guests have the best experience possible — he even organized a sunrise safari on the day of our departure as a last-chance effort to see a tiger, which succeeded! Homestay experience: The family homestay environment is what truly made Bardia so special for us. Kali, Nanu’s wife, is extremely kind and welcoming, and is an excellent chef. She’s also a certified nature guide and does some junior guiding with Nanu, which is incredibly cool in a park with few female guides. Their sons are very involved with guests, and they have a sweet dog as well. The family is happy to help with arrival/departure logistics as well. Rooms: We stayed in the king room and had a big bed with a mosquito net & fan (though we didn’t need either in November), electrical outlets in the room, and a private attached bathroom with hot water. We also had a front porch with wicker chairs to relax in, and there’s a shaded communal eating area for guests & family. Be aware that the rooms are a bit rustic (screens rather than windows, some geckos/insects, etc.) but that’s to be expected for a homestay in Bardia! Value: Unbeatable value, which comes across in every aspect of the experience. We spent ~$200 USD per person for six nights at the homestay, including room, food, and many safaris with Nanu.
