Situated in Arusha and with Uhuru monument reachable within 8.7 km, Under The Shade Safari Lodge features express check-in and check-out, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi throughout the property... We had an amazing stay here! The beds are so comfortable and the pool is beautiful with the occasional visit from zebras and giraffes!! The fruit and fruit juices at breakfast are so yummy and fresh. The staff are all wonderful and so friendly we will miss this place!

An impressive Lodge nestled in the coffee fields of Arusha. Not only offering lovely cabins with luxurious bedding and bathrooms, but also a nice pool to dip in after a long day of safari - or work in my case. A big plus is their community work: Shanga workshop employing disabled and deaf people from around Arusha area is located on the grounds. And a zuri café called "kahawa" (Swahili for coffee;). You then totally realize you are in Africa when the breakfast has to be watched over by game keeper - because of the monkey families living on the premises. Definitively a stay to come back to!

Absolutely lovely place to stay, that is exactly like the photos. Location - Conveniently located close to Arusha airport (5 minute drive) and only 10 minutes drive from both Sable Square which has lovely coffee shops, and the Cultural Heritage Center. Facilities - In the apartment we stayed in, there was a kitchen area to cook, living area with Netflix and YouTube, outdoor balcony, 2 double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. There is also an outdoor pool and sunbeds. Everything we needed was provided including water, tea, hairdryer, toiletries. WiFi is strong and works well. Food - Although there is no restaurant on site or breakfast provided, they provide a list of close restaurants to choose from which is helpful. If you'd like to cook your own food, you can visit the supermarket in Sable Square or next to the Cultural centre. We ordered pizza delivery which was no problem, and lovely to sit and watch Netflix as a family after a busy few days on Safari. Families - It is absolutely perfect for families.
