McCloud Hotel features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in McCloud. Among the various facilities of this property are a bar and a ski pass sales point. The McCloud Hotel is a 10/10 in my book. The front desk reception has a number you can text with any questions. Even before our trip, I had my questions answered about road conditions and whether we’d be able to reschedule if my sick dog couldn’t be boarded. All the answers came quickly and graciously. The hotel itself is gorgeous, historic and is full of charm. I particularly love the antique, but comfortable furniture that makes sitting with a good book and a cup of tea the perfect afternoon. We stayed in room 228, which has a king-sized bed and a daybed with pull-out trundle. We chose it because it has a nice table for two, where we got to enjoy some reading time. Bonus points for the shower: the water temperature gets nicely hot and the water pressure is pleasantly strong. Sage, the onsite restaurant, is a must-try. The food is delicious, comes in good portions and is very fairly priced. I particularly loved the mushroom polenta. I highly recommend making your dinner reservations as soon as you book your stay here. It’s a very popular restaurant. We were fortunate enough to stay here when they offered a special afternoon tea. Sandwiches, scones and pastries. Yum!
