If you are planning a trip to Aswan, Elephantine Island on the Nile , La Terrace Aswan is the guest house you NEED to stay at. The house is so lovely and spotlessly clean. The view of Aswan Corniche from the wonderful terrace are fabulous day and night. Now on to Mohammed, the proprietor. The nicest, kindest, most genuine man you’ll meet. He looked after us like we were family. We flew into Aswan from Cairo but when we arrived in Cairo our luggage wasn’t. We messaged Mohammed just to let him know what happened and even though at this stage we still hadn’t met he took ownership of the issue and just ran with it. He had a car meet us at the airport which took us straight to a pharmacy to buy toiletries before taking us to the guest house. The following morning after making sure we had some breakfast he guided us to a shopping centre where we could purchase replacement clothing. In addition to all this Mohammed looked after all our bookings for tours and trips. He well and truly saved our holiday. The beds in the room were so comfortable and it was so quiet and peaceful. Mohammad, thank you for being the perfect host in your gorgeous house. Best of luck to you.

Owner and staff were very kind to us and our kids. Room was clean and it had a nice view on the Nile. Location was awesome, just a few steps from the ferry boat pier and minutes away from main attractions of the island.

Doroka is the best hotel in the Nubian village: beautiful, authentic, quiet and welcoming. The room is great: amazing view on the Nile, nice balcony, good AC, comfortable bed and beautiful decoration. And the staff is the best! Everyone is so kind, welcoming, helpful and positive. The food is also really good! Ahmed, the hotel manager, helped me to navigate Aswan activities and options. He organized private tours for me at a very fair price and gave me some good pieces of advice so that I don't get scammed. He is a very reliable, helpful and friendly manager. I loved my stay at Doroka Nubian house and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to relax in a beautiful environment while visiting the main attractions of Aswan.

I stayed at Nile View Guest House for 5 nights in July 2023. The property was clean upon arrival. There is an air conditioner and a fan in the room, so you can use what you like. I felt very comfortable at the hotel. It is a family-run business, so you get the feeling of being around Egyptians who care about you. The food was lovely. I enjoyed the daily trip to the hotel, and the boat was driven by one of the family members. One feels safe around them. They are easy-going people, and they are kind and considerate. They messaged me few days before my arrival to help me arrange my trip and to check if I needed anything, and that was very helpful. They are very respectful of one’s privacy, and they are happy to help. The laundry service is available there for a very good price. I only paid around 130 Egyptian pounds (around 4$) to get many pieces cleaned. I am so grateful to the lovely family for my pleasant stay. Everything, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, the hotel was outstanding. The place looks beautiful, the beds are very comfortable, everything was immaculately cleaned, the food was delicious and the view of the nile was stunning. The staff were helpful and are not out to short change you. They have their own boat and we got a better rate than we would have from haggling, they also have their own pier so you don't need to deal with the chaos at the marina. This is like a little paradise in the chaos of egypt. You would be a fool not to book your stay here.
