Beach Hotels in Bentota

I had a great experience at Cinnamon Bentota Beach. I was looking for a quick stop on my way south but ended up extending because the hotel and staff were lovely. I am especially grateful to Pabasara and Mają who are super friendly and professional, and really elevated my stay. The location is amazing and hotel design really stand out.

A very cute property in Bentota. The resort is really amazing, worth staying. The beach is just a small walk away, crossing the rail path- which gives another wonderful experience. The food is simply amazing.. The best we had in our trip to Sri Lanka. Special mention to the wonderful Chef and all the staff for the wonderful hospitality

Exceptional property with equally amazing hosts. Both Nishanthi & Wasantha were spoiling us with utmost comfort and hospitality. The entire property is so well decorated with artifacts that you feel like living in an Art Gallery. The breakfast was equally sumptuous, served in a private balcony attached to each bedroom. Wasantha would even take us to nearby places in his tuk-tuk as a complimentary gesture. Even the local beach it just across the road (hardly 100 meters).

WIFI works good for remote work with video calls. So lovely lady owner that was cooking delicious breakfast for me. AC works very well.

After 13 (budget) accommodations in Sri Lanka, this was definitely the best value for our money. Large and very clean room, very kind hosts, nicely located between the beach and the main road and a well-working shower with hot water.

Right on the beach. Airy spacious clean rooms with big balconies facing the sea. Sea view from the bed. Clean big bathroom. Great pool. Amazing staff, amazing service. Delicious breakfast served anytime in the am you want. Makes you feel at home. Spotless beach.

When talking about our time in Sri Lanka, our one night in Bentota keeps coming up as one of the highlights of our trip. And this is because of the lovely people we met and the amazing time we had in Bentota. Chami Villa's host is the kindest and most generous person there is. Even though we only stayed one night, he invited us to his birthday party. We shared the table and the most amazing and the richest food with him, his family and other guests and it was the most fun night you can imagine. To be met with such amazing hospitality is truly special. A big thank you and if you ever come to Germany again, you are very much invited! The room is simple but clean, has everything you need and is even equipped with a mosquito net. If you stay, you will meet the nicest people, the loveliest dog and the best hospitality.

3 star hotel with 5 star service! Spacious clean rooms, right on a beautiful beach, great pool and pool area, but more than anything superb service and staff. Thank you for a lovely stay!

We recently spent five days at this beautiful hotel, and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. Every single person working here deserves the highest praise: From the reception and restaurant teams to the spa staff, gardeners, and service crew. Everyone was incredibly friendly, genuine, and always ready to help with a smile. A very special thank you goes to our butler, Badde, who made our stay unforgettable. His attention to detail and thoughtful surprises turned our holiday into something even more special. Beyond his professionalism, he is simply a wonderful person, full of positive energy. The property itself is breathtaking. Located on a large rock overlooking the coast, it feels as if you are floating between forest, beach, and sea. The sound of the waves is always present, and the views in every direction are magical. Despite being around 30 years old, the hotel feels modern and very well maintained. Improvements are constantly being made. The architecture and interior design are unique and tasteful, far more characterful than in many new hotels. Some reviews mention that certain areas might feel a little “aged,” but in our opinion, that criticism is entirely misplaced. Naturally, not every pool or wall can be rebuilt every few years and there is absolutely no reason to. Everything is clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The food is another highlight. Even after five days, we kept discovering new dishes to try, each one beautifully presented and full of flavor. The variety and quality are truly impressive. All in all, this hotel combines hospitality, design and experience in a way that’s very rare to find. We left deeply relaxed and already looking forward to returning one day.
