Windy Waves Kite Beach & Nature Resort is true to its name. Set in a beautiful location the huts and facilities are built from locally sourced natural materials in traditional village style (by the staff). It is an absolute treat if you like simplicity and sustainable design. The staff are warm and friendly and go above and beyond. When I left some things behind they were delivered back to Negombo at no cost. Super grateful for a memorable stay. Would love to come back.

The place was beautiful and the owner was so lovely. The rooms are pretty basic but they are clean and smell amazing. The owner is so helpful and the food was delicious. There aren’t windows but the net over the bed kept the mosquitos out. We really enjoyed our stay. Kalpitiya is pretty spread out but we had a motorbike so got around okay.

Beautiful place, aesthetically wonderful, luxurious but authentic. Perfectly clean. The 4 young men working there are awesome: very kind, welcoming, helpful, professional. They work hard and they arranged everything we asked :) and we asked a lot :) Food was delicious, we enjoyed a perfect dinner and a gorgeous breakfast. You can walk to the centre (about 20 minutes) and it’s really worth it to go and feel authentic Sri Lanka. In the evening we enjoyed staying on the Lagoon beach, it’s amazing at sunset. I really really recommend. Thanks for your hospitality and I wish all the best to you guys!!

Villa setha wadi was an amazing place. The view on the lagoon and the pool are the best. The room is clean, the beds are good and it has a really great shower. The chef prepared an incredible dinner for us, and the breakfast is lovely too. This place has its own kite centre where you can rent equipment. Kite instructor Matt teaches you how to kitesurf in the safest way possible on the lagoon and in the waves. Prices are very reasonable, equipment is brand new, we would definately recommend kiting with Matt.

Amazing place in the center of kalpitiya. The place was very big with a nice garden including some donkeys and cows. All facilities, including food, showers, and cleaning, were at a very high quality, including a high quality wifi connection(which is rare in kalpitiya) The location is very close to the kiting lagoon and is suitable for kite surfers. Absolutely adorable little cottages directly on the beach. Simple but very comfortable. I loved hearing the ocean day and night. Large breakfasts and I loved the fried fish for dinner. Dedicated and attentive staff whether I wanted tea or I needed information or transportation. They have kitesurfing lessons and rent gear as well as arrange for Safaris and other excursions which was hugely convenient. They went above and beyond to make sure I had eveverything I needed. I loved it so much I even stated well quite a few extra days.

- the location is beautiful: restaurant directly on the beach with beautiful sunsets - cabanas were really clean and with a small private garden and backyard where nobody could see in - staff was very kind, friendly and ready to help - the cabanas and all the resort is in the middle of nature: sand & palm trees - for tuktuk drives around or to the lagoon you can always count on “Isuru” (just ask at the reception for his name/number); he is very friendly, helpful and makes good prices :)

Loved the location, massive room with a huge balcony overlooking the ocean. We wake up to the sound of the wild birds and ocean waves bashing on the beach. Good facilities with a big room and extra big bed. Lovely Sunset a around 530 - 6pm Great location for kite surfing, excellent food and super friendly staff, lovely pool, we'll be back soon with our friends. Well done Wellé Wadiya, keep up the great service! Al the best!

My favorite place in Kalpitiya, located right by a beautiful and clean private stretch of beach. The owner is super friendly and helpful, and can organize all kinds of activities for you, including kite surfing lessons. The cabanas are very spacious and got everything you need. At night you hear the ocean, what’s adding to the very calm and relaxing vibe of this place. Very amazing value for money, will definitely come back and stay there again!

Windy is at a great location right on the beach. The staff is super friendly and the food at the restaurant is wonderful. Perfect for kitesurfing right from the beach and both lagoons with flat water are easy to reach. It’s not a five star resort, but it’s excellent value for money with super helpful and friendly staff.

Great hotel. A real treat. Beautiful setting right on the beach. Very attentive friendly staff. Clean, comfortable airy room with an amazing view from the balcony. Extended our stay as it was so perfect. If you fancy a mooch, there are few little bars and beach hotels a short walk along the beach for a beer or juice with sunset!
