The hotel was very well designed and the amenities were excellent. Specific call out to the main restaurant where we had great service from the staff & chef (Jerome) and delicious meals catered to our taste. Being in the forest, it was a lovely experience to walk around the compound and wake up to the sight of animals within the vicinity (e.g. monkeys or squirrels in the morning). Would highly recommend this resort for visitors looking to do a safari at Yala National Park.

Uga chena huts were like a heaven on earth. We stayed in this hotel for 2 days in October 2023. The hotel is located in the Yala Nature Reserve on the ocean. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel staff. The general manager of Colonel proved to be an amazing person. He gave us a real celebration in honor of our wedding anniversary. It was funny and unforgettable. The hotel itself is not new, but it has everything you need. The rooms are large and colorful. All with ocean views, comfortable enough. Many thanks to the staff of the entire hotel for their hospitality and attention to our people.

A good location for a stress-free stay in Kirinda, Beach Bungalow Yala is a campground surrounded by views of the garden.

We spent two nights in this little resort at a lonely beach right next to Yala NP. We just wanted to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. You can stroll along the long beach, collect shells and watch the sea birds. The owner Hansa and his assistant and cook made us feel very comfortable and served us delicious meals and great breakfasts with big fruit plates, once even the Sri Lankan style breakfast. The curries and the fish dishes were outstanding and very tasty! It was a three-course meal every evening cooked just for us! The price for these meals was absolutely okay for us. Hansa is a very knowledgeable person who can tell you a lot of interesting things about life in Sri Lanka if you ask him. We especially enjoyed sleeping outside on the big porch where there are three beds to relax in during day and night. The unforgettable highlight of our stay, however, was watching an elephant at about four o’clock in the morning, eating some leaves from his favorite tree next to the main house and then passing silently by the veranda where we were breathless (and a little nervous) onlookers!
