Beach Hotels in Mathiveri

We liked the location and the friendly staff who worked really hard to make our holiday very special The food was fabulous, excursions from the hotel and the watersports equipment and kayaks were great . Everything was perfect for us and thanks to Faisal and his team for making our time at Veli Beach so memorable.

There are no words to describe this incredible experience at Mathiveri, a small island with simple but very kind and hospitable inhabitants. It has magnificent beaches with free sun loungers and swings, an easily accessible sand island, and a soothing sense of tranquility. Staying at Velana Vibes made us feel at home. Munzir, the owner, was always available to meet any request or need. We could use the kitchen, fully equipped for preparing our meals, the lounge area for working or enjoying conversations with friends, the machine ready for free coffee and tea at any time, and safe drinking water was always available. We are certain that Velana Vibes is the most well-maintained accomodation on the island -new and aesthetically the most beautiful, with very spacious rooms with large bathrooms and all the necessary comforts. Munzir also runs a minimarket, and his stepmother owns a souvenirs shop, ensuring that guests have access to everything they might need. He personally arranged our speedboat transfer from and to Malé, picked us up at the port, and took us back with luggage transportation included. On the first day, he even organized a mini-kart tour of the island, as a courtesy from him, so we could get to know it better. Munzir is supported by Imma, the talented chef who prepared our breakfasts and meals on deserted islands (even for special dietary needs), as well as an excellent organizer and tour guide for customized and private excursions. What really made this experience truly magical was feeling among friends, having evening conversations with Imma and Munzir, who gave us advice, clarified doubts, and helped us understand the local customs, culture, and history. They shared jokes with us and even taught us a few words in their language. On the morning of our departure, we received a wonderful surprise: a delicious chocolate cake with 'We will miss you" written on it. It left us speechless. Baraabaru!

I rate the stay very well. Our cottage right on the beach was cleaned daily and comfortable. Next to the beach for tourists you can find coral reefs. Hotel staff friendly and very helpful. The island very charming with friendly people. We rate the stay very good.

I spent enjoyable time in SIS Tourist Villa, the Staff is amazing and the Guest House is highly recommended if you want to stay in Mathiveri, also for the location, near to the bikini beach. New furniture, comfy bed and spotless. All the staff make you feel like home and encounter all your needs. Also breakfast met my expectations, they offer a real maldivian breakfast - which I liked a lot - but they also provide you with the service of dinner/lunch on demand, with several choices of food/main dishes.

If you are looking for small distance from the beach, this is the choice. Chill atmosphere, exactly 30 meters from bikini beach. Clean room, friendly staff.

From the start everything was super, communication with people before we traveled, they organised transfer for us, greeted us with nice refreshing drinks and gave us all useful information. We had room on the ground floor that looked at the bikini beach and sea. On the white sandy beach we had beach beds and table and chairs. Now about the sea (well ocean)…crystal clear water and part where you can swim and house reef where you can snorkel and see amazing colourful fish. Staff was amazing (I am terrible with names), but every single member of staff was friendly and polite, from our waiter, Sri Lankan chef, hotel manager…everyone. They organised trips for us. Out of many different trips we chose 3. We had Dolphin Safari where we saw 100’s of dolphins and took amazing photos and videos. Then we had snorkelling trip to see turtles and again we took some great pics and videos. Our guide even took my GoPro and filmed us swimming with turtles. Unforgettable experience! We also had Night Fishing trip, where we caught many fishes, like tuna, barracuda, red snapper etc. Then they prepared most amazing beach dinner with our catch. In the restaurant you have a choice between continental breakfast and local one (many times we had both of them). Also you can eat pancakes with various toppings and there was always cold juice and water. For dinner you have different choices, like various soups to start with, then various curries, rice and noodle dishes, fish, various ways of chicken, pizzas, burgers…and desert at the end. We were very happy with food. I can highly recommend Belmars Beach and will definitely come back at some point, as we had a brilliant time there.

I came on a solo trip to the Maldives and stayed 4 days in Bougan Villea retreat. I felt so welcome and taken care of throughout. The inn is new so everything is clean and in great condition. The local beach is currently under reclamation but the bikini beach is just a 3 minute walk away. The beach there is beautiful with a truly amazing house reef. I snorkelled there about 8 times in the 4 days and I saw pufferfish, squid/calamari, sharks, and even caught glimpse of a manta coming to the reef. A special thanks to Anwar from the resort, who personally brought me snorkelling to show me the good spots. He also brought me to see the night feeding of nurse sharks, and took me on a motorcycle ride around the island on my last night. As a guests, I was able to borrow snorkel equipment for free, as well as the stand up paddleboard. The highlight of my trip was paying to go out to swim with the Manta Rays, an experience I will never forget. They were huge and majestic, and it was just magical. Although the island is not big, I’m thankful for the 4 days at this lovely place.

Small privat beach at deluxxe beach villa realy give you feeling of your own small paradise in the midle of indian ocean. Clean and comfortable space and egzotic sound of silence inside and outside, with moustly inisible but always smilenig staf in atmosphere of small green tropical haven make you feel very peacefull and relaxed. Last but not least Nika time is exscelemt idea which give you oportunity to enjoi all 12 hours of daylight on Maldives.

We returned to Gangehi Island Resort after spending our honeymoon here ten years ago — and honestly, it felt like coming home. Very little has changed, which we mean as a huge compliment. The same peaceful atmosphere, the same warm smiles, the same effortless kindness from everyone on the island. The resort still keeps its original Maldivian charm — natural, simple, and beautifully laid-back. The tropical vegetation is lush, and the sea is that unreal shade of blue with amazing coral just off the beach. We spotted reef sharks, rays, and even sea turtles while snorkeling. The weather was a bit mixed during our stay, but that’s part of island life — and the staff made up for it in every way. Giorgio, the General Manager, surprised us with a complimentary upgrade from half board to full board — such a generous touch, thank you! The restaurant buffet is uncomplicated but always delicious, mostly fish-based, freshly prepared and served with genuine warmth. The dessert corner deserves a special mention — fresh tropical fruits and homemade ice cream every day. The spa offers excellent massages, and our excursion (even with rough sea) was great fun with beautiful snorkeling spots. The romantic dinner at sunset, with our own waiter and chef, was truly unforgettable — especially the aperitivo at the overwater restaurant. In short, Gangehi remains an authentic Maldivian gem — friendly, relaxed, and made for pure relaxation. We loved every minute and will surely be back again.
