Minutes to the train station, with 30 minutes or so to Edinburgh. Exceptionally clean facilities with a full kitchen and simple breakfast. The bed was comfortable, the room lovely and cosy. All of the staff were super friendly and very helpful. I’d highly recommend a stay at the Dolphin Inn as the perfect Scottish home away from home.

We were warmly welcomed, there were delicacies in the fridge and on the table. Anne was always available for information. I would book the flat again at any time. Loved the unit. Nice and clean and quiet. It had everything you needed including a few coffees, snack and cleaning supplies. Loved the fireplace. So sweet and nice touch. Convenient to the train too. Just a stones throw away. Great resources for surrounding area too. Owners were top notch!

Our weekend at Straven Guesthouse Edinburgh was wonderful. There is a real homely atmosphere and connection to cultural traditions. The wonderful and helpful hosts have thought of everything a guest might need. The guesthouse is very close to the coast where people like to walk. Edinburgh city centre is within easy reach by bus. Highly recommended.

The nearest airport is Edinburgh Airport, 14 km from the property. Nice quiet location few minutes walk from Portobello beach and just a few steps from a bus stop to the centre. Comfortable, well equipped room. But the highlight were the hosts and all the care and help they provided. And a huge wonderful home made breakfast (the day we went on a trip we have received a full bag of food to take with us). We really felt at home 🙂
