I booked the room last minute, and our experience couldn’t have been better. Darren was very attentive through messages, we received all recommendations and directions to get there. The room was fabulous, exactly as the images and more. The place was recently renovated and is warm and comfortable. I highly recommend and we will definitely be coming back soon, as they are also pet friendly and we could bring our dog with us. :) Thank you Darren and the team for helping our last minute escape to be even special 🐶☺️

A very enjoyable stay in a remote and beautiful location. The host Jackie is outstanding, very friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfast was absolutely perfect; fresh fruit, yoghurt and a full Irish!

John and Anne were friendly, welcoming and very accommodating. The room itself had everything you needed, towels were changed half way through the stay, everything was kept topped up for us. Bed was the comfiest I’ve slept on for a long time. Cracking view too! If we returned again we wouldn’t hesitate to book a stay at the Sands. Thanks again and all the best.

Great location, about 10 minutes walk into town. The house is beautifully furnished and homely. Large en suite double bedroom. Large garden and off street parking. Pat and her partner were amazing hosts. Friendly, engaging, and really interesting people to chat to. Breakfast was included in the price, with an excellent choice of options. Pat's eggs benedict was literally the best breakfast I have ever had. Superbly cooked and presented, and worthy of any high class restaurant. If you want a night in Newcastle at half the price of a hotel, this is a great option. Thanks Pat.
