Warm room and ability to open a window to let a fresh air in. Appreciated a comfortable bed, so had a good night sleep. Bathroom was clean and hot water worked straight away. Friendly staff and cosy quiet bar area. Location: just 5-10 minutes away from the city/town centre itself.

It was lovely to meet Victoria and stay in Halday. Very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay, we had a lovely breakfast. Victoria was expecting us 😁 and gave a very warm welcome 🙏 The room was just what we needed. The bed was extremely comfortable. We are on route walking Lands end to John O Groats, so we appreciate an easy check-in and warm, friendly stay. Thank you, and good luck with everything.

A lovely traditional local pub that's been modernised to include lodgings but has kept so many original features. Looks very picture-postcard from the outside with the red ivy (I think!) growing around the brickwork. Nice welcome at check-in and I was given a nice corner room with super four-poster style bed and corner bath. Great value for money with a top notch breakfast included (great fry-up, chef!). Breakfast was served in a lovely, large and bright open dining area at the rear of the pub.
