A great place to stay for exploring the Kerry Cliffs and the rest of the Ring of Kerry, or for doing a Skellig Michael trip, as those start in the marina of Portmagee, which is close by. The room was clean, the bed alright, and although no breakfast is offered, there were yoghurt and cornflakes for convenience.

Overlooking Portmagee’s busy harbour, The Moorings Guesthouse is just a 30-second walk from the pier, offering elegant rooms with marble bathrooms.

We loved our room. It looked out over the harbour and was spacious, so comfortable. Nice to have tea and coffee facilities, and a bathtub. The kingsized bed was also fabulous. We were also very impressed with the restaurant, the food was excellent. Breakfast was so good with many options, and we enjoyed our dinner as well. Linda at the reception was very friendly and helpful.

Alan's place was the highlight of our trip. Alan was a very generous host and nothing was too much trouble. The view from the outside terrace had to be seen to be believed. We will definitely be back!

The location was wonderful as a base for travel, the hosts were friendly and Tom put together a great itinerary to take in the local sights. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully cooked with excellent coffee.

The place is immersed in nature — the trees are full of birds, and hearing them first thing in the morning is a wonderful sensation. Even though the caravan where we slept was small, it had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Brendan, the host, served us an amazing breakfast. While we were eating, we had a lovely chat, and just from those few words, you could feel how well he cares for this beautiful escape. I will definitely come back here when I return to Ireland. Very close to Portmagee if you're planning to visit the Skellig Islands.
