Amazing little gem of a place. We had 2 rooms and they were very comfortable. The people were incredibly kind. They did everything they could to make our stay the best. You only had to ask and they would help. They know all about the local attractions so don’t hesitate to ask. Breakfast and dinner was just perfect for us. Super tasty local food. Really enjoyed staying here and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere quiet but convenient.

This accommodation is perfect. The family was lovely. From the minute we entered this home, we felt right at home. We were greeted with fresh homemade juice, which was beautiful. The host chatted to us about what to do during our stay and gave really good advice on our future travel around Sri Lanka. I would definitely recommend having dinner while staying here. All the food we had while staying at this home stay was so tasty and plentiful. The dinner was actually our favourite meal we had since arriving in sri lanka. The breakfast was also very nice and very big. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. There was a mosquito net and a fan in the room. The home stay is a bit outside of the town but the host offers to drop and collect you from the bus station. It is very close to the temple. This was one of our favourite stays in Sri Lanka.

Amazing helpful and friendly staff! Even made me breakfast after arrival because I travelled in the morning and hadn’t eaten yet. Helped me with a tuk tuk driver to Lions rock and the temples for a fair price (really nice guy named Sonny). Beautiful garden! Large and clean room with hot water! Gave some delicious fruits from the garden when I continued travelling. Amazing stay!

The host were amazing and very attentive. They served us different breakfast every day(instant coffee and tea was every day), first day sandwich with egg, some fruit and papaya juice. 2nd day roti with egg and vegetable mixture inside and ketchup on top, fresh lime juice and fruits. 3rd day potato curry with noodles, fried egg and some coconut salad and every day was excellent. During the evening if you don’t feel like going to the city area which is 40 minutes by walk or taking tuktuk, you can ask the hosts and they will prepare you food of your choice from the menu, we really liked pumpkin curry and spicy beans. We also tried traditional kottu roti there and some fried vegetable egg noodles and everything was tasty. When we spoke on first breakfast with our host we told him of our plan and he offered us an organisation of the trip we wanted to go for, it turned out another guest staying in the hotel (friendly older Catalan gentleman) that sat next to us wanted to do the same trip that day and we got amazing price for tour of Dambulla cave temple, golden temple, my favourite vegetable market (host explained a lot about the fruit and veggies I have never seen before), spice garden with some massage and possibility to buy products, showing us the good view of sigirya lion rock and then taking us to pidurangala rock. It was amazing day with amazing experiences and people and we also got good tour with car price. Next day our host organised safari and we saw many elephants, land lizards, birds and even elephant coming back on the road next to cars. Safari guides also helped us get SIM card on the way back and they were great during our trip. Our host also prepared for us some king coconut to drink in safari park and some waters because it was very hot that day and he seemed really concerned. We got this for reasonable price 26000LKR for 2 people and we had car for ourselves.

We stayed here for 2 nights and had an amazing experience. This was our first stop on our 3 weeks break in Sri Lanka and was blown away by the scenery. It is set in the jungle, with lots of monkeys around. It is a short walk from dambulla cave temple, golden temple and a wall painting museum as well as local amenities (drinks, fruit etc). It is also not far from Sigiriya rock and a spice garden, both of which we visited and highly recommend. (For sigiriya, we suggest you climb with a guide otherwise you won’t appreciate the history)! The hosts at Golden Rainbow Guesthouse are LOVELY, very friendly and nothing is a problem. The breakfast and dinner is delicious, freshly made at a time of your choice in VERY generous portions! We had hired a driver, but we met with another girl staying here and she said that the host will help you get to places you need to go to and arrange any trips you may want to do which is what also made it a really nice and personal place to stay.

The service by all the staff was some of the best we have ever experienced on all of our travels. They went above and beyond and even clean the inside of our tuktuk each morning. The food was delicious and plentiful. The use of the bikes was an added bonus and we used these to get to the caves. We would highly recommend staying here.

Amazing place, we enjoyed every minute there. Located further down from the main street, so it's very quiet. However, it's still close to all the restaurants and shops. Room was spacious, clean, A/C worked just fine, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was fine, food tasty, every morning we had fresh fruits to eat. Susa - husband of the host recommended us places to visit and arranged transport for us for two whole days. We highly recommend Rock Arch - best guesthouse in Dambulla.

I recently stayed at this charming place and had a wonderful experience. Although it is not far from the city, it remains quiet and calm, providing a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the owners were friendly and welcoming. The facilities met all our expectations, making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. I can highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great stay. It's definitely value for money.

Accommodation in a small bed and breakfast with breakfast in a quiet part of Dambulla, near Dambulla Cave Temple. Clean, cozy room with air conditioning, a double bed, and a private bathroom with a toilet. Running hot water, a kind and helpful hostess who assists with transportation and other activities in the area. Highly recommended.

Very pretty, clean and comfortable room in quiet neighbourhood, yet close to city centre and the Dambulla cave temple. We loved it. Excellent breakfast. The family running the place is absolutely adorable. They showed us around with their car, took us to a local dance show and for a Ayurveda massage, and we visited gorgeous places we would not have found ourselves. Best experience in Sri Lanka, I would give a 12 rating, if I could. Many thanks and very best wishes to Madhu and Sanje and their lovely family.
